OOOPPSS!!!!! Need body parts!!
On our trip to Alberta for Christmas we had a bit of an accident.
After bypassing the oil cooler we made it home safe and sound, but now need to look for a wrecker that has some front end parts. No we don't have collision and will never, ever, ever buy collision (been royally screwed by ICBC before and 10 years later are still paying high premiums) Could someone let me know what wreckers have Delicas in the lower mainland that I could get parts from, ASAP.
Thanks, Andrew

Bummer! Good you're unhurt though and the deli is fixable. Can't help you with lower mainland wreckers, but I imagine ccautos in Coombs has what you need. They do ship stuff. Good luck with the repairs!

Happy Day!

Re: OOOPPSS!!!!! Need body parts!!
I've seen quite a few 'write off's' in the past few days on the side of the road.
Is the frame pushed in or just panel damage ?
If it's the frame, you may need to take it to a frame alignment shop ($$$).
Call the wreckers in BC in a week. By my count alone, there should be close to 12 Delica's that are complete ICBC write off's heading to wreckers soon. That's only what I've seen lately.
Glad you guys are okay. Good luck on the hunt.

Re: OOOPPSS!!!!! Need body parts!!
Hi Guys, just phone or email to Glen at CC autos on Vancouver Island with your list (or photos).
Glen has the top floor of his shop all organized with parts from several Deli's he took apart. He is the expert on various models, is a mechanic so can advise you about problems they have had (such as needing a new connector to fasten that bit on rather than re-using the old connector) and his prices are the best. Glen only has decent used parts, the parts he rejects are at other wreckers. New parts are available from John of Rocky Mountain Import (but send your entire list to Glen, he will tell you which parts he has and which you get from John). Both of them can courier stuff easily.
Anything I can do to help, please just say. I have lots of free time at the moment, happy to chauffeur you to various places, or just pick up stuff for you from the Mardy of Amazing Autos or Japanoid or CVI (or even make a trip to CC Autos if you have so many parts it is cheaper to do the ferry run than pay courier) and bring them out to you.
I will also send you a PM Private Message with my contact info. I remember meeting yo'all at the brunch, and happily offer my advice and help (keeps my karma good in case I ever need help myself). Hugs to your sad Delica.
Regards, Christine

Re: OOOPPSS!!!!! Need body parts!!
Not trying to hi-jack your thread, but I was wondering if you could give us more details about the accident. ie speed you were traveling and the other vehicle was traveling as well as what the other vehicle was and how it faired. How was the passenger and driver foot compartment after the crash? Any intusion? I have always wondered how the delica would fair in collisions, so info you can pass on would be helpful. If you dont want to post shoot me a pm thanks.
