Drop shackles

Hi,
seen these before mainly on Suzukis, but here they mention being on test for the L300

Hope the propshaft is long enough

Those "Missing Link" shackles are scary! They unload the weight transfer too fast! Definitely not for street use. And they aren't great off road neither. The suspension drops but the contact pressure is only the weight of the axle and the wheel/tire. I had them on my old suk for a week and sold them right the way.

good to hear the opinion of someone that has used them, I will look forward to hearing from others as well, it's all pretty irrelevant to me though as they cost more than $1.00 :)

Agreed. These style of shackle work for crawling, but not more. Would be scary in these vans on street in a hard braking situation.......huge endo I would think.

I think they have pins to lock them down when on road.

I had a set on my Jeep years ago with the locking pin.

The pin snapped while braking going down a steep hill and the rear end sprang up like a bronco almost flipping us over forward.

They are death traps no matter what good things you hear about them.

not so patient, just no free time :( I've booked all day saturday to get as much of it done as possible, we will see how far I get.
