I was wondering if the Delica normally comes with one of these. I read about them while looking for centrifuge information and having one seems like an added safety feature.
Here is one I found for sale on eBay

Re: Sedimentator
They don't come with a water separator.
Racor is one of the big names in diesel filter/water separators.
There are some good, affordable Racor diesel/water filters out there.

Re: Sedimentator
Interesting concept, an efficient fuel filter, nothing wrong with that.A Sedimetator is mounted before the fuel filter on most every European Diesel car and truck. What do they know that we don't ???
Hmmm.. my first thought was is this why the North American Auto industry is in such trouble, they forgot to use Sedimetator's?. Maybe they could have been saved after all....

Re: Sedimentator
We've used them on the vegoil filters for a long time, incorporated into the main filter is a primary sedimentator stage. The Vormax, which we used for a long time until Racor quit making them, the TurboFyner and the VM2 filters all have this feature built in, and on the latter two, it is heated, it's in the base of the unit, with the spin on filter on top. We also use the TurboFyner and the VM2 as diesel filters in some applications where we need to eliminate the original fuel filter and replace it with another aftermarket filter. The concept is good...my old tugboat had 20 year old diesel fuel in it, and 2" of growth/sediment in the bottom of the tanks. But it had a great 3-stage filter system, including a big homebuilt water separator/sedimentator.
The engine was like new, installed in 1963, a Perkins, compression was still so good on it that it was the only diesel I have ever seen where the engine oil stayed clean, like a gasoline engine, all the way to the next oil change, it did not turn black!
