Post by patty »

if any one has any information and the VW Golf Country, i would love to hear it.

sorry for not being delica related, but it seemed like a good place to ask as most people on here know of weird car locations in BC

I've seen them pop up on craigslist from time to time in the past year.

5,000 - 10,000 ish.

Neat cars but I'd rather grab a Subaru outback mid 90's and install a 2" lift with beefier shocks. less than 1/2 the cost and a capable 'car'.

subaru impreza with the 2.2 L boxer engine. High reving and no known issues like the 2.5 L head gaskets.

Don't get the VW if you are concerned about reliability, and I imagine parts are really hard to get for that thing.

They're cool, a fellow importer/friend has brought a couple in...sadly they are VW's, which means the price is overinflated for a less than trustworthy vehicle (electrically)IMO, the parts however are apparently easy to find.

Not sure what the intention is for the car but I looked at the golf too some time ago.

IN the end though, I picked up a Toyota Sprinter (Corolla) 2.0L diesel AWD from Mardy last year and have been extremely happy with it as a commuter. It was great in the snow this winter too. On top of that it gets close to 5L/100km on biodiesel. Its not as robust as a subaru but its a great little car for what it is and the price.

Its got the same engine as a Camry diesel from the mid-80's and the body of a corolla (pretty much) so parts are easy too.
