Edward, are you already giving up on the Delica world? :o

Is this your own Delica, sounds similar! Anyway, who ever buys it should have a top quality wvo install!
Good luck!

Hi David - no, not giving up on the Delica world! - but I do have an eye to doing a full-on, all-weather single tank conversion, so I thought I'd have a go at importing my own and then converting it to what I think is the proper way to attack single-tank....since there is much interest in that, or seems to be, on the Coast and the Island, especially.

So, more R&D, just to see if I can do it, make it work at -20C this winter (plugged in first for only a half hour), and have satisfactory results in an emissions test from a "cold-soak" (room temp) start to show that things are actually combusting the way they should from startup (and so have good assurance that the longer term health of the engine is not being compromised)

I'd be changing the injectors, glow plugs, glow plug relays, timing, etc. and adding a heavy duty 1000W circulating ( really circulating...built-in Grundfoss pump, adjustable temp....a thing of beauty even if a bit large!) engine heater that'd bring the entire system up to temp in a very short period of time, including the engine block, therefore injectors, filter, in-tank heater (in original tank, or in a new tank in original tank location), and fuel lines.

If I can score a really good cash deal (once I have the cash) on a good Deli with a blown engine, I might even look at doing a diesel-electric hybrid, with an electric in the engine bay, a small diesel engine on WVO at the rear (spare tire area) and some batteries....I'll talk to Randy Holmquist about that when he stops in for a visit this Monday, he's the owner of Canadian Electric Vehicles on the Island...knows his stuff. Should be able to help me out on that idea, if it's feasible.

...but it all takes lots of money and time.....

So I'd need to sell this one off, hopefully get close to what I have invested, with my time, the kit, the tank, the bumper/hitch/wiring, and thereby have a budget to play with on the next project.
