So what's in YOUR tool kit?

Hi Everyone;

As a new Deli (L400) owner, I need to set up a small toolkit for on-the-road repairs. Big stuff can stay at home. Of course I will have a metric socket set but what sizes of combination wrenches should I carry? I also generally carry a metric allen key set, screwdriver with various bits, a vise grip, a flashlight, a small pipe wrench and an electrical tester and meter.

What else?

If we’re not talking the big stuff like extraction gear, a shovel that can fit perfectly up under the rear seat, and emergency water; the following never leave the in vehicle kit:

Metal tape can repair rad hoses and exhausts in a pinch



Good compressors are so small, one for each vehicle.


These plus the above can get you rolling in less than ten minutes weather your in the back woods or behind the Metrotown mall...all within the same week last summer. Double up on the sticky string plugs, you never know when you have to help yourself or someone else.



Amazing gizmos actually work, called a Therapik (Lee Valey), just picked up a new one to take back to Thailand. First bee sting you get that doesn't swell to grapefruits size, or the first sleep free of mosquito itch, pays for these. A must for kids who scratch every bug bite into bleeding mess.


Dr Bronners magic soap, our 'don't leave home without it' camping stuff; organic soap that goes along way. Not only works to keep campers smelling sweet, but rocks at cleaning hands and clothing after road side repairs. The 8ml size can last 2 seasons, even with a month of camp showers, if the kids don’t get wasteful.


Passed all this stuff on to family here in Port Moody, and now they can’t live without it.

I think I have some of that tape somewhere, a folding camp shovel will have to do for now, the spare compressor in the RV is now in the Deli, and Wal Mart had the tire patch kit.
I got the Therapik from Lee Valley but I hate going there. Too many cool thingies to buy. Maybe I will get a good nights sleep without my girlfriend scratching all night now.

I still have some (MEC) Campsuds but I will look for the other stuff when its gone
