So long dear Heidi.

Post by delicat »

Quite a few of you guys got used to my good old Heidi on all our camping trips. Well, after 12 years of common life the old girl finally went on her own. Little Heidi died in her sleep a few days ago. Sad thing is that I wasn't there for her last days, she was at my parents place while I'm travelling in Europe. Makes it a bit easier on me for now but still feels really strange and empty.

I got her when she was 8 weeks old and she's been my best ever dog. She was getting at the end of the roll, I had started to call her my Mexican dog 'cause she'd be sleeping all the time wherever she could find some sunny spot. Best thing is she died naturally and my dad was kind enough to burry her on our family land.

Writing this just to share with those who knew her... Cheers girl!

Heidi was the coolest dog next to Seiko. Sorry for your loss David, I know how empty your life must feel without her! We just got back from our first camping trip without Seiko, and it was a little strange to say the least!

Keep smiling. I know it doesn't help much now, but feel some peace that she went naturally and with loved ones around her.

Sorry for the loss of your family member David. So, the next camping with your crew will be different then... So long dear Heidi, and who knows David, maybe she will get back to you in a different way next time.
Peace.

I am really sorry to hear of your loss, Delicat, Heidi has a great spirit and no doubt you will see her again, but not yet. I am a great believer in:"No such place as far away". No matter where I go, I realise I am here, now. So when you think you are in the middle of nowhere... you are, in fact, in the middle of now-here... smiles... Heidi is not far away.

Ahhh, so sad. Mitsu-Heidi our mascot carrying the Mitsu Maple stick.

Heidi had such a wonderful life with you David, and all your care for her. All the Delica Expeditions with Heidi, as you lift her in and out of the high-lift Deli so she wouldnt have to jump so high. Heidi lying beside the campfire, so mellow as I put my feet on her to keep my feet warm. She will be happy in doggy heaven, remembering all the fun times you both had. Farewell Heidi, hugs, Christine.

Thanks again,

Only good thing about it is that my van won't smell like old dog on my way back across the country... Kinda liked it though! She had a great life so I'm glad for both of us. Would love to get a new puppies but both of my dogs (her brother died last year) seems like they got replaced by kids... So goes life!

Hi David,

I am very sorry to hear about Heidi... may she rest in peace!

I haven't had dogs myself.... but I've had two cats - the first one was the ultimate super cat and she lived to be 21 years old... and the second one was the defintive super cat... and when he passed away a couple of years ago, it was very difficult and I still miss both of them sometimes!

Our pets really become our friends and family members! But you are right about the kids.... They change our lives quite dramatically!

Wishing you all the best,
Chris
