The Whipsaw Trail in a Delica?

Has anybody done the famous Whipsaw Trail in a Delica? Just wondering if you could make it or if you need a serious 4x4.

The Delica will make it but I wouldn't do it alone. Lots of web stories of all different types of vehicles going through all year round.

Take a CB with you in case you need help.

Hah, beware cus Jaz just wants photos of his non-deli towing a deli out of a pickle.

I read that the top cross-over section of road was horrible, but I am into exploring as far as we get before the fuel tanks touch ground. We were whitewater canoeing lower down in the area, so know the 2WD gravel roads.

Can't do next weekend as it's Nanaimo Bathtub Race, but after that?? Long weekend not good as it's very popular area with yobbo's and eejits then. Christine.

Should be no problem, I did it by myself (vehiclewise, took my mom "wheelin") last summer, my truck has a 1 3/4" bodylift and 35" mud terrains. I was able to do 98% in two wheel drive. I saw an absolutely bone stock nissan pathfinder doing it, so if that can make it with street tires, a deli will have no problem.

Not so sure anymore about "a deli will have no problem", but if you have the right support vehicles which can tow you over the tricky pits, than yes a stock Delica can make it.

What I realized is that in the dry month it's not too bad although you still have to pick your line wisely if you don't want to leave some body parts behind and there's also usually an alternative and easier way around some (but not all) the tricky sections.

Doing it in muddy/wet condition is a little tiny bitzy bit harder... quite a lot actually.

They do a great job of editing! There is a subtle connection too... one of the guys has a Toyota Surf and I have also been welcomed even though I don't own a Toyota. Good peeps!
