Trailer Hitch / Towing questions

Post by Tadao »

I'm planning to have a hitch installed on a '93 Pajero (2.8 litre diesel LWB) to tow a camping trailer. I've called a couple places and they say there isn't a ready-made Class 3 hitch for the Pajero/Montero (they have class 2 at Rack Attack but I think I want class 3). I got referred to E & H Hitches in Burnaby for a custom job. Am I on the right track? Any suggestions for hitch class or hitch shops?

I can't seem to find a straight answer about the weight of my Pajero or it's towing capacity. Does anybody know this info?
Is it similar/equal to the Delica?

Thanks for your help,
Mark

The best choice is E&H Hitch in Burnaby, they have them semibuilt, then do slight mods at the time they weld them on. I would go have them look at yours and be guided by their advice as they do so many different vehicles they are experts and won't put one if it can't be done properly. Cheers, Christine.

Thank you for the advice. I went to E&H and they were very good. I'm pleased with the hitch, and two guys worked for an hour for free when there was a wiring problem in the trailer. Excellent service.

I just had my hitch done today. Bolted on nicely, no welding. Looks great. Pricey, but I think it will be worth it.
