I have a 90 Super exceed. It will not turn over and you do not hear the glow plugs click. Jump starting does not work. When the key is on the "on" position the lights work as if in park. 4 ways but no signal lights. Any help would greatly appreciated.

check the battery terminals for corrosion and tightness and while your there there are fuses in that area that you should check too.

Re: My FUGLEY will not start
My suggestions below to try, (Jay not home till later, he might have more ideas):
If it is Starter: I don't know how to troubleshoot that one, hope someone else can post.
Put it in neutral (assuming automatic) and try starting, holding foot on brake, to override the safety switch. You can start without the glow plug click in warm weather, just turn your key and wait 7 seconds, then try to start.
Do all your other lights and stereo etc work normally, if not, look at the funky "Fuse" attached near to the battery, and looks like a little 2 inch box with 4 wires curling out then in, this is a "fusible Link" and check to see if any of the wires are crispy or melted. Each of those 4 wires does a quadrant of the electrical stuff (ie protects a quarter of the fuses). Awkward to get to as it sits atop the battery towards the top back of the battery compartment.
Do you have an exotic wierd dual battery setup, with a solenoid to isolate the starter battery from your accessory battery, maybe the switch got switched.
Have you had any changes done to van, any hints that things werent working.
Did all your idiot lights glow faintly while driving, sign of alternator problem.
Let us know how it goes.
Good Luck , Christine.

Re: My FUGLEY will not start
Guys,
Thanks, I will look into those. I have isolated down to what it's not. The starter and the glow plug regulator are all fine. It seems that it is the power wire to the ignition switch so far. I will bash on and let you folks know. This is the first time that FUGLEY has let me down in over three years.
Woof,
Dawg

OOPPPS, yes I do have a weird duel battery set up and my sound system does not work. And I do have a turbo timer.
The good thing is having 2 sons (living at home still. And I have stopped cooking with cheese) that I have bought vehicles for. "Hey, remember that truck that I bought you? ...." LOL

Re: My FUGLEY will not start
Two batteries connected in parallel is a completely normal setup for Delicas. Two with an isolator between them is not the norm.Dawg wrote:a weird duel battery set up
See if positive is connected to positive, and neg to neg with just wire between them. If so, normal set-up. If there are "black" boxes in the wires, then you have weird setup. Suggest you photograph it and post the photos.

Got the FUGLEY going last week. It was a short wire under the dash.
