I've been following the odd threads talking about painting their bambi bars
and I figured what the heck. Took the drill/wire brush to it and then
POR-15'd it. Just finished today with Black Armor Coat.
I like the glossy look. I would have left it POR-15 Black since it
spread sooo nice but I think it doesn't handle UV rays long term
very well. It says that if it isn't exposed to the sun (ie underneath)
you don't need to paint it.
Also did the side steps.
Looks good... and yes I will take a picture this time ;)

Re: Black Bambi Bars
Here are the pics.
You might see some unseemly black specs on the front pic of the van.
I had some rock chips so I sanded and POR-15'd them
Going to fill them with white stuff in a bit.
The back corner was my solution to professional painting.
I took a sand blaster to two small spiders showing through
the paint. It was weird. Anyway fixed a pin prick of a rust
spot actually on the metal sealed and POR-15'd it.
Sanded, Primed, Sanded, Primed, Painted, sanded ;)
primed and painted. I then felt satisfied and rested.
Hmm weird
anyway
I figured just in case there was some silly person actually
going to check out the corner I would stick a Decal there.
I didn't have a Delica.ca one so I had to use what I had.
I think it looks good with the 4x4 sticker.

Re: Black Bambi Bars
Nice job. Good contrast with the whiteness of the van.
