John, if you're catching the 8.30am ferry from Horseshoe bay to Nanaimo and see a grey 4runner with a delica.ca sticker on the back, say hi! We're off to Tofino :-D

We're headed to Campbell River area for a week of camping and relaxing early Sunday morning (6th), if you're going to be in the area Sunday or after, let us know before we hit the road and we'll let you know where we're going.

Hi Jaz, John "White Mule" will also be on the 8:30am ferry tomorrow Wednesday, please phone him so you have each others cell numbers. 1-403-993-2047 (Alberta number). He's also headed to Tofino so it would be great if you can Del-4-Convoy.

Mararmeisto, John will phone you when he heads to Victoria, he hopes y'all can meet up.

Kathy & Brian, sounds like you won't be in the same area at the same time.

If anyone one else wants to meet up with John, after the Island he will be back here to the TardisDeli Motel, then driving back through southern BC. He'd like to meet more BC folk.

I am replying on John's behalf as he is out boating with Jay this evening, no not fishing, they are off the the Marina Grill in North Vancouver hunting prime rib dinner.

Cheers, Christine.

Great trip!

Gotta give props to Jay and Christine for their time, hospitality and friendship. Thank-you!
While spending time at Tardisdeli, I visited Deep Cove, had a hitch installed (E-H), cooked a lovely pasta on the beach followed by fresh beachside blackberries. I was lucky to catch a ride on a Boston wailer (forgive the spelling), a nice boat, which took Jay and I to a waiting prime rib dinner and back again. I got to meet Sergy (Profister) and several other drivers (sorry if I cant remember your names) at a meet which tied the Calgary record of six! Thanks to Sergy and John for the "White Mule" decal.
On the Island I found a way to get a very reduced rate at the ferry with a tall vehicle!! Tofino offered a great skatepark, fantastic sunset and a great drive. Uculet offered a great overnight stay. Nanaimo (na-na-ee-moh) offered a good aquatic center shower. The van was on a slope that night so it was a weird sleep. Coombs was a pain as CC's highway signage sucks ass. Also the kind 5 local buisness people whom I asked directions to get to CC auto, can kiss my ass. Parksville got zero tourist dollars from me as seatbelt tickets are given when crossing the street, sorry. Victoria...nothing to say that hasnt been bla bla blaed before. Hope (no hope) had two great campspots. Othello and one right beside the river. 15 bucks a night. I didnt find the closet hanger hotel. Osoyoos nice skatepark. Grand Forks nice skatepark. Castlegar nice skatepark. Nelson, blues jam sunday night at the Royal. Good local beer. Helpfull local Ham opertors. Great camping near Albert Canyon on the Trans Can. Nice trunk roads there too. Kamloops great skatepark. Kaslo great skatepark. Nakusp whatever.
All in all an ok trip. The mule prrrred the whole way. The temp gauge read 9 oclock for 90 percent of the time. The trick is to remove overdrive when ascending as higher revs will cool the engine. Over 2500 kms logged and ready for the next walkabout.
Thanks again Christine and Jay.
Thanks,

White Mule

I totally hear ya on taking off OD going up to keep the temps down. I figured that out on my three week trip out to the coast this summer. I too had the honors of meeting Jay and Christine, great folks and hard core Deli.

If you like Nelson Brewing Co. then do yourself a favor the next time you are on the coast and head down to Bellingham WA and the Boundry Bay Brewing Co......OH MY.

Cheers

Yes I heard about that ramp. Maybe next time. All the parks were cool. Bonsor was the "jankiest" for sure.
Thanks,
