1994 L400 Spacegear Exceed LWB (long wheel base).

112,000 km
2.8L Intercooled turbo diesel (automatic)
Water-cooled factory turbo
Crystalite roof/sunroof (all electric shades/full sunroof working great)
Grey cloth interior / Metallic dark Green/Grey exterior
Seats 7 / 2 front / 2 captain's 360* rotating chairs, 3 rear / foldaway bench
4-wheel disc brakes w/ ABS
E-code (LHD) Canadian Headlights

I purchased this in Japan from a single owner / non-smoker. It has never been smoked in, is very clean and it shows.

Extra Factory options not listed on stock Exceed L400's :

Winter package
- Dual defrost (front/rear/windsheild wipers)
- Larger alternator/starter
- Cold-start ECU/glow plug system
Dual-climate digital control system
Keyless door lock/entry system
Ignition/Electronic Immobilizer system *note (will lower your ICBC insurance rate as an added security option)

Recent work that has been done to it in the past few weeks :

Front brake pad (ceramic Raybestos)
Front brakes calipers
Front brake rotors
Front wheel bearings (inner and outer) incl seals
Rear brake rotors - upgraded slotted rotors for cooling
Rear brake pads
Air/Oil/Fuel/trans fluids & filters
Belts/tune-up

Upgrades that have been done to it :

Single battery conversion with Odyssey 1500 glassmat/non-spill battery (best on the market)
Sony stereo (cd/mp3/Ipod) with in-door MTX 6.5"/tweeter speaker system
Aftermarket clear lens covers
Aftermarket Chrome door handles/mirror covers/pillar covers
7" HID spotlights from US
5" amber fog lights from Japan
Suspension lift at 3 inches with 31" Bridgestone Dueler MT tires
Upgraded HD Heavy-duty front sway bar assembly
Bilstein HD Heavy-duty shocks
3" full turbo to tip Stainless steel exhaust system
Stainless steel intercooler air pipes
Rear spoiler
Terzo rear aluminum ladder

I priced everything that has been done to it and it comes out over $6,000 for everything listed above and then some.

SOLD

This is by far one of the cleanest and nicely modified L400's I've seen to date.

It needs absolutely nothing.

This week up in Whistler it was down to -3 Celcius and it started up on the first crank.

It's a very hard decision to part with this as it's really the most refined JDM we've owned but our priorities have been re-arranged, hence the sale.

Not often enough !

But I do like to try out vehicles to see what we like.

So far if we could have only two vehicles in our stable, Turtle would be my pick and our first Pajero would be Maryna's pick. In between is the Spacegear. She's just too intimidated by it's size/length.

I've got a SWB I'm picking up next week and we'll see how that is driving around.

For us, it's mix between cost/comfort/reliability and so far it's a toss up between the last 3 we've had.

I wish we could keep them all. :-D

How much longer is the LWB?

I am in the market for a Space Gear and was thinking I'd have to import one as I haven't found one to my liking here. I've driven both the L300 and the L400 SWB and although I'm a big fan of the L300 (for nostalgic reasons related to my former Westfalias) I've decide the L400 fits my needs much better. How do you feel driving the LWB compared to the other Delica's you've owned?

I'd be interested in seeing/driving your Space Gear so I can see if it is the right vehicle for me. I'll try giving you a call when I'm off work this afternoon.

Thanks,
Shane

You think you could stuff 33's on there with the lift it has? Very nice ride.

HI Jesse:
Have you sold it yet? The red guy with the horns and trident who sits on my left shoulder keeps bugging for more power. How
does it stack up in the fuel mileage department?

You can fit 33's with the right rim/offset. 32's would look more comfortable. I like the 31's though. Much better tire selection. 8-)

Deposit accepted.

Fuel mileage :

It's mixed with Turtle (L300). Averaging 11-12 L / 100km depending on how I drive. Best was 10L/100km worst was 14L/100km with my foot to the floor down the I-5 against a major headwind doing 130+ with 6 adults and lots of gear.

Good mileage. Think the larger exhaust/tuned engine makes it work for the LWB.

Thanks Jesse,

I'm really looking forward to taking this baby home with me. This vehicle is in fantastic shape, the photos don't really do it justice.

Thanks so much,
Shane
