IPF Wireless Remote Controlled lights

Mitsubishi Delica L400 production commenced in 1994 -- After much anticipation, the L400 arrived on Canadian Soil in 2009!

IPF Wireless Remote Controlled lights

Post by Adam »

I'm finally driving my L400 after 3 months of waiting and I noticed an IPF remote control on the driver side. There is also an IPF module under the hood. After a quick google search I figured out that they may be for some HID lights, that I guess were removed before being exported. Any ideas as to where I can get some replacement lights seeing as I don't need the remote or the under hood module, just the lights?

I had the same on mine. 9200 module under the hood and switch in the cab.

I just used it to hook up a 2nd set of spot lights.

Not sure why you had to quote the entire post back to me for that. I would have been funnier if you'd just quoted the "3 months" portion.......ah never mind, that wouldn't have made it any funnier.

I said it in jest. Too many dealers in Japan quoting unrealistic transit times.

the transit time itself is about 10-12 days... the question becomes how long will it take to get it on a boat at the Japan end, and how long to clear customs, de-stuff, and compliance on this end.

times range from about 1-6 months for the whole thing (though I've heard of both longer and shorter!)

Back on topic, lights can be acquired all sorts of places, any off-road or truck parts place will have them, Canadian Tire has a very limited selection, you can find them at Princess Auto, and I bet Lordco as well (boy do I wish we had Lordco in Alberta!)

you can find cheap 'utility lights' at princess auto. they are pretty durable, and great for off roading. and if you break one, its not going to break your wallet.
i guess it all depends on what you want them for.
i have a few of these for general lighting. :-)

they sometimes have them on sale for around $9.
Roads!? Who the hell needs roads!?,

I also note they are only a 35w bulb... seems a little "dim" to me...

Yeah, I don't think I want to go a cheap as Princess Auto. I want something that will look good with the van. I was trying to get some OEM fog lights from Japan, but nothing has turned up on the Yahoo sales yet. I'll try my luck at Lordco and CDN Tire, and see what I can get there.

don't discount princess auto right off the bat, they have a large, varied, and constantly changing selection, worth taking a look, you may find what you're looking for, then again, you may not. I was not overly impressed with what Canadian Tire stocks. My suggestion would be to try some place that specializes in outfitting 4x4 pickups and such, they won't be happy you have one of them foreign jobs, but a light is a light is a light.

I'm hoping to make it Princess Auto in a couple weeks when I come over to the mainland for a family event. I have to pick up some WVO filters and a ball mount with a big drop. My old L300 ball mount just won't cut it. I'll make sure and scourer their lighting section to see if they have any decent 6" spots. I rarely get to make it there so I have to book off a good couple of hours just to wonder the store, I'm worse than my wife at Ikea when I'm there.

Princess Auto is one of my fav stores but its hit or miss for quality (leaking lights, zip ties not working, adhesive not sticking etc)..... Also the one in coquitlam has only 50% of the stuff in the Catalog which is annoying. They are also slow to restock (half of the electrical stuff right now is sold out). Haven't been to the one in Langley yet.

One other note... when I went to "CAPIT" in metro vancouver... they had some huge hid fog lights.... $1,000 each.... If you are ever bored... go in there to check them out. They are insane lights.
