Friday Nov 13... Green1 in the lower mainland...

I'm picking up my L400 on Friday Nov 13, anyone want to meet up in the evening before I drive home on the Saturday?

Yeah, I might be able to meet up with you on Friday. I'm coming over for a family event, we are just not sure if we'll be leaving here Friday or Saturday morning. What time are you leaving on Saturday? I actually need to go by Mardy's so that he can check out my hitch install and give it the thumbs up before I start hauling much with it. And of course I have to hit Princess Auto Saturday morning, for lights, WVO filters, ball mount with an 8" drop and whatever other cool things they have on sale.

I fly in friday late afternoon, the plan is to go straight to Mardy's and pick up the Delica, then I'll have the evening free to meet up with Deli owners or what not, and head for Calgary first thing Saturday morning. (not all that much time on the coast this trip I'm afraid)

I should be around Friday. I'm picking my kids up from school on the North Shore in the afternoon, then I'll be back in Vancouver late afternoon or early evening.

Wow, sounds like you have an L-400 meet in the making. Where were you thinking of meeting and what time? Perhaps you can stay at the Tardis Motel...

What time are you guessing you'll be at Mardy's

Mardy is picking me up at the airport just before 4pm, and then we head back to his place to get me an L400

Beyond that, it's hard for me to coordinate a meet because I don't know the area, or the people, but if I find out about something, I'll be there! (assuming my GPS can find it!)

Anyway, I'll check the forum up until about 1pm or so, after that, well I still have my blackberry, so I'll try to check...

nobody planned a meet (and as I said, I don't know the people/places well enough)
but the drive was... well... the road was horrid, there were SUVs and trucks upside down in the ditch all over the place (and cars right side up in the ditch...) as well as a few vehicles spun out and facing the wrong way on 4 lane divided highway...
But the L400 handled it very well, felt very solid, no problems at all (though I did most of the trip in AWD)
And apart from a couple stone chips in the windshield, and one stone that punched a hole in one of the new LED DRLs, the vehicle made it through intact.

yup, I got back to Calgary yesterday afternoon.

Sorry about not being able to hook up on Friday. There was a bit of a SNAFU and I didn't make it over to Vancouver until Saturday afternoon. Glad to hear your first road trip in your L400 was relatively uneventful. The weather over here is still awful, lots of wind and rain, it sure makes me appreciate the AWD option.

Friday ended up being a mess for me too. Would've been nice to see some other L400s.
