*** please delete my account
To whom this may concern,
Please take the time to delete all my (remaining) posts and then my account entirely. I am quitting.
1) A MODERATOR editted my posts to say stuff i never said and put the rest of my words out of context. This of course makes me look even more like an idiot and throws the whole converstation out of context. (I know there is no proof this actually occurred... or which moderator did this because the forum only notes EDITS made by the original poster).
2) To many "desktop mechanics" on this board that have never lifted a wrench in their life... but seem to know first-hand the solution/answers to so many problems.
3) To many "desktop importers" that are debasing the value and uniqueness of the Delica (which I happen to think is the greatest JDM ever).
4) To many "Japanese virtual citizens" that seem to know the intricacies of Japanese culture and living.
5) Nobody has the authority/will to keep "CHECK" of the last 3 points.
This is my final post. I hope a mod can leave this up for 24 hours as the last "nail in the coffin" of my membership on this forum. Thanks for your time.

You were quite happy to judge us not knowing anything about us.. we are all hiding behind are users names here,, anyone of us could be your next door neighbor, your mechanic, or even your best friend.. Until we meet again (Under a different user name) have a great life
However your input helped no one..

If this was closer to April 1, I would say that he/she is just messing with us but clearly there are other issues.
One of the nice things about this forum is that it contains a lot of very useful information and does not degenerate into other things that most forums do.
I would like to thank the moderators/participants of Delica.ca for helping make our acquisition/ownership of our van a pleasant experience.
Hopefully we will get to meet you in the near future.

ps - this may show up as a double post. If so, I apologize. Seems not only am I mechanically challenged, but computer challenged as well.

Re: *** please delete my account
It looks like we got a bug. Mark, can you take a look at this ASAP?
I guess this is advertising causing my KAV to go nuts but I do not like the fact that this started this morning on this site.
Sergiy.
PS. I realize that this is not the best tread to post this but it will be deleted anyway.

Re: *** please delete my account
don't have any comments about the particular poster of this thread, although it would be interesting to know what the situation was with number 1 on his complaints. was the thread edited due to inappropriate language or something else? do moderators ask members to edit posts first or just edit them straight away? have no idea who the desktop mechanics or importers are and I guess anyone giving advice in these areas must be guilty of this including me and yes I have lifted the odd spanner or two but wouldn't classify myself as a mechanic. too many 'japanese virtual citizens' this one i'm actually inclined to agree with a bit. definitely has been information put forward about japan that is way way out of date or really is just stereotyping and generalization. one of the main problems with the internet is the inability to always judge the persons tone of their writing and this leads to quite a few misinterpretations. the absence of just one or two words by mistake can completely change the meaning and often this is jumped on by others. if posters replying to an initial post would taker the time to clarify what the original poster meant before jumping in a lot of unnecessary backwards and forwards could be stopped. an example of this is on a previous post I was trying to explaining that japan has various different car cultures (plural context) but some one misread it as different car culture (single context), so a simple mistake was made. result was more unnecessary posting to clear the original meaning up. unfortunately there appears to be a few that seem to repeat this sort of twisting the context of meaning around to suit their own thinking.

Re: *** please delete my account
One of the people you accused of this was one of the most prominent vehicle exporters in Japan... he does in fact live and work in Japan, and exports enough vehicles that I'm pretty sure he knows all about their "car cultures"...too many 'japanese virtual citizens' this one i'm actually inclined to agree with a bit. definitely has been information put forward about japan that is way way out of date or really is just stereotyping and generalization
sure you can't believe everything you read on the internet, but you also can't dismiss it all as incorrect without having something to back up that claim

Re: *** please delete my account
this is an example of what I was trying to explain previously. When I wrote in response to mark's post I agreed with most of it but not all of it and have also backed up with why or did you miss that part and are only looking for something to stir the pot along further, because that is how it appears. i might be misreading your intentions but you do seem to try and pick up on little bits of a post and twist them around to suit your context of thinking. whether you do this consciously or sub consciously only you know. now in some of my post when replying to mark's post I have even suggested he can confirm what I have written and if anything is wrong then i'm sure he should be able to point it out. so far nothing has been pointed out or prove wrong.Green1 wrote:One of the people you accused of this was one of the most prominent vehicle exporters in Japan... he does in fact live and work in Japan, and exports enough vehicles that I'm pretty sure he knows all about their "car cultures"...too many 'japanese virtual citizens' this one i'm actually inclined to agree with a bit. definitely has been information put forward about japan that is way way out of date or really is just stereotyping and generalization

Re: *** please delete my account
You agreed with all of his post except the part where he said that the average distance people drive per year in Japan is significantly less than in Australia or Canada... which was the whole point to the thread... I think he has a pretty good handle on average yearly mileage in Japan.
