Small sunroof

Post by flyfishn »

On some days when it's raining hard, and I go to back up, water pours down my inside rearview mirror. After that initial shower that's it. Would this be a sign that the seals on my sunroof are shot and where would I go to have it re and re'd?

Also I have heard of the wet floor syndrome, but mine is on the passenger side right where their left heel would be. That doesn't seem to be from the headlight issue as I figure it is to far back. Ideas?

Thanks.

James

I had the same problem and took all the rear windows off and just greased the seals with stuff (don't know the name anymore) from Lordco. After that no water came in anymore.

Your wetfloor is probably caused by this little crack underneath the front of the rain gutter. After I sealed this area no water is coming in either.

Water moves up and down. Pull the carpets and figure out where it's coming from

The passenger-side wetness may be caused by the windshield washer
reservoir. See if something is leaking there.

the seals may be toast, parts can probably be found through any of the major importers on this site, you could also try rejuvinating them with some dielectric grease or some such.
However that is only part of the issue, there are also drain hoses in the sunroof mechanism to let any water that does get in drain properly, these are likely clogged, you should probably try to get them cleaned out, I've heard of people using compressed air to force junk out of them.

Hey,
http://www.delica.ca/forum/water-gettin ... tml#p40253

That good ol post shows the methodoly and the container of
"AC Delco Silicon Emulsion" get it at lordco.

For your small sunroof there is at least one drain tube which goes down the passenger side "A" pillar I think, might be clogged.

That's the Crystal-Lite over da driver sunroof eh?

Right on! 8-)

I looked and could not readily spot the drain tube. I guess I have to remove the glass. Is it tough?

removing the glass is easy enough, it's held on by the latches, and the 2 bolts at the front, remove the latches first, tilt it up, then remove the 2 bolts (this is a good time to check how tight they are too, because many a delica has lost bolts on the highway due to loose nuts underneath)

As for the tube, it can be found under the vehicle, coming down the "b" pillar (I think there's one on each side, I can't remember for sure though)
