hi - i have a problem, and kinda gotta get it fixed quick - the mrs. is without wheels until i sort this out...
it has become very difficult to move the shifter from Park, to Drive, 2nd, LOW, basically, seems like it is gummed up. had the oil changed at a Pennzoil, and mentioned the problem to the guy mechanic, he figured it might be the linkage, and spryed WD40 at the exposed 'elbow' below the boot of the linkage, and asked me to move the shifter back and forth several times through the gears. after 2-3 minutes of this, it was moving, but would not start. seems the linkage had 'shifted' out of alignment, so I started it in Neutral, but since then, it has tightened again, and low gear and Park no longer illuminate, though i can get it into both gears.
WHAT DO I DO? The mechanic said he made no adjustments - just sprayed WD40. any help at all will be HUGELY appreciated - i need to fix this tomorrow.
THANKS!
i will be sure to continue to surf our older posts for info on this. {{will wd40 it again, then spray white lithium, see what happens}}

Ya it is. I haven't solved it yet. But as mentioned in my thread, it isn't the cable. The Deli is going in to Kirkham tomorrow to have a look.
