L300 chassis - drawings & dimensions

Post by RichD »

Does anyone have any measurements, technical drawings, 3D models, or the like for L300 chassis?

I'm specifically concerned with the inside dimensions right now; things like interior width and window height from floor, wheel wells and so on. I'm sure that I'll have to refine most of my measurements from the actual vehicle, but on the off chance that I'm not the only one on the forum that draws up plans...

I found some exterior major dimensions in the L300_General link on the wiki, from which I'm drafting a scale drawing in Visio. I will post in thread when it is complete.

BTW we are currently in the early planning stages of our camper conversion for a Delica that we're receiving in a few weeks.

Thanks!

So, I have looked around and what I was asking for isn't quite out there, although there are many requests.

Below is more along the lines of what I was searching for: a scale vector illustration that can be used to make accurate drawings of mods. I used Visio for this. Ultimately I'd like to keep going with the detail and include key components and make the objects logical so you can select your Delica model and it will change to suit, etc.

This is only one view and I haven't confirmed all the dimensions yet but just to give you guys an idea of what I'm working on.

Cool!
Maybe you could confer with this fellow.

There are a couple of L300's in Google sketch-up too,
ALMAC was messing around with these for a bit.

Right On! 8-)

I really wish I could have found something like that when I was looking!

just a quick note, when measuring "rear cabin" length there are several different, but useful measurements
- length at centre of floor
- length at edge of floor
- length at seat level (above the engine hump (8'4"))

Did you not ask for dimensional technical drawings?

http://www.delica.ca/forum/l-300-overvi ... -7341.html

Click on L300 Overview and you will find six pages (running two up) of dimensional views of L300 Delica variations.

If your reply was in response to my quote, keep in mind that neither this site, nor the wiki existed yet when I was looking for my L300.

Sure did. I had those you mentioned already (mentioned in my original post) but what I was looking for was more detail, existing drawings that other people have done - i.e. to save time.

Sorry I probably wasn't clear enough: my aim here is a digital file that can be shared and manipulated to suit various purposes, not just a flat image. (vectors > pixels: http://www.unisa.edu.au/printing/New/LV ... vector.asp)

So, that was what I was intending for this thread. Since it doesn't seem to exist, I'm gonna make it and share it!

BTW this forum is terrific. I've been reading and reading every night and I'm learning so much about Delicas. Lovin the community.

Great idea RichD! Very helpful if you try to plan the interior. Looking forward to see your file in our download section.

Too funny I am doing the same thing in google sketchup. I have a bunch of drawings that I have found here and just looking around the internet.

Hey RIch are you just doing 2D drawing? What software are you using?

The models in the google wear house are only outer skins and there are not to scale. I down loaded them and had a quick look.

I have started mine from scratch. Basically tracing the exterior and then extruding it.

I will post some more pixs in my thread later.

Got my Delica today and started doing some interior dimension measurements. Note that my above drawing is completely off and just an example. I'll update it and edit it, but just a warning in the meanwhile.

Hi Bonge31,
I've deleted phelanmiller 's post as the attachment gave my laptop the clap. I suggest you check your computer for any viruses.
