As entertaining as it is though, I guess I'm not a hardcore offroader at heart, I saw a lot of heinous environmental damage throughout that video, leaving the kind of destruction behind them that pisses me off so much when I see anything similar out in our woods.

when i was wheeling in Alberta i would try and keep from ripping up the countryside and it disgusted me to see how the tank traps and mud bogs appeared after each long weekend in the middle of a virgin skag field.
going to Lees Offroad park on private property and i could let loose and enjoy what he had built.

As much as I like wheeling, this two videos go far beyond what's reasonable in terms of impact on the environment. Doesn't matter if its private property or public domain. Only because you own the land, it doesn't give a free pass to do what ever you like with our planet. Contaminating water ways is just one thing of many.

when the clear cutting is banned
when open pit mining is banned
when millions of km of black top is ripped up and made back into dirt tracks
THEN i will give a rat's behind about a few trees being ripped by someone enjoying the challenge.
some will say "it has to start somewhere" and i agree.

the eastern foot hills of Alberta are under siege by the governments hiding behind the Siera group facade. they ban wheeling but then let the clear cutters in that strip the foothills of all the trees and ground cover.
we step up and say we want out 1600 km of trails back and they say you need to bridge all water crossings BUT the only trail they leave open was one that crossed the river 5 times in it's length. when we proposed a bridge for over a sensitve area they come up with "you need an engineers stamp plus it must enter and leave 30' back from the edge of the creek" and yet the same week we proposed the bridge the oil workers had the "right" to bridge a creek by sticking a wood barrier INTO the creek to support the bridge.

when you fly over the eastern face take a look at the damage and then tell me that taking out a dozen trees is going to make a difference.

i used to care a lot and it still disgusts me to see virgin skag fields turned into mud pits, it still disgusts me to see the garbage left behind after the May and September long weekends, it still disgusts me to see the rape of the land...
but
eventually, you just stop caring.

on private land do what you want, it is your land.

Cheees, this opinion can be just from someone who hasn't been much outside this country. Hope Canadians (including the government) will realize sooner then later that there a not many untouched nature left on our planet and Canada has the privilege to own (still) a big part of it. It's not just about cutting a few trees. Wait another 10-20 years and you will have the same rules & regulations (banned wheeling, property regulations, no wild camping, cars banned in cities etc) as in many many other countries.
It's easy pointing at mining, clear cutting etc., but it's up to YOU to make a change and inspire other people to do the same.

i am just saying we shouldn't judge the Russians for what they do in their own land.
