Hello,
I'm Jason, new member and first time poster here. So I have recently decided that I want a Delica. I've scoured the internet trying to get as much info on them as possible but was hoping some of you might help me with a few questions so that I can choose one that best suits my needs.
I'm looking for something 90 to 92. It will be used to get to and from work and for camping excursions on weekends. I'd like if my wife and I could sleep in it. I'm curious what are the major differences between the Exceed, the Super Exceed, the L300, and the Chamonix?.
I'd like to have an automatic but if anyone has any strong opinions about a manual transmission I'd like to hear them.
I like the high crystal roof, is this only an option in certain models?.
Are there any major issues with aircare?.
I live in Vancouver, could anyone give me and idea what insurance costs?.
Any feedback any of you might have is greatly appreciated. If I've missed any major considerations that you think are important please let me know.
Thanks for you time.
Jason.

Re: Hello...a few questions about my future Delica.
Jason,
Most questions can be answered throught the search function. A good link pertaining to the Exceed/Super Exceed/Chamonix is this one viewtopic.php?f=9&t=309&hilit=
Yes they can all be found in crystal lite/high and low roof. As for 5spd vs auto... auto is better if you like to go on the highway. The manual is nicer if you want to do serious offroading (you do not have the lower front auto transmission cooler to bash then).
Insurance... probably varies depending on your discount. Mine, when I lived in vancouver, was roughly $1500/yr (included full collision and so forth) at a 40% discount. Move up north and save a bundle... Mine breezed through aircare last year (once again, if you move up north no more aircare!).
Anyhow, I hope that all helps. Welcome to the forum. Enjoy the Delica, or at least hurry up and get one!
Josh

Hi Josh,
Thanks for the reply and the link. Your right, I should have searched these forums more thoroughly I've found a ton of info since I posted.
Thanks again, and if you hear of a Delica that shouldn't be past up out there drop me an email.

Looks great, do the shades work? Is it a super exceed then? (I am guessing because of the chrome). It must feel good to finally have one.

Sweet, I think I like it. Well the curtains do look a little frilly for my taste, but otherwise very clean looking. Good to see the 'almost' standard BFG A/T on some nice rims.
Congrats,
Kev

Thanks for all of your kind words
Josh,
Yeah Super Exceed with 111,000 kms. The two front shades work perfectly and all of the parts to fix the back two are included.
Kev,
I agree the curtains look like something my grandma made. I'll have her all dialed in in time.
Planning a road trip to the Okanagan this coming weekend to test her out.... and to buy a case of wine.

That's a fine looking ride. The wheels look really good with that color combo. Right On!

Thanks Nisseman,
Yeah I think it looks pretty cool. I wasn't sure if I liked the rims at first, but they have grown on me. It's supposed to be going in for inspection today, does anyone know how long it takes the government to issue the new VIN# once the photos and paperwork have gone through.
