The light beside the sliding door is switched (unless you've got a different one).

The switch for the rear gate is inside the latch. Better latching turns out the light on your dash. Cleaning of the latch provides for better latching.

you can turn the light in the floor the one on the step up, on and off with a switch?.

in side the door latch hey, that explains it. it is really sticky on my deli, anyone got any easy ways to get in there. its so sticky i can barely work it with a key.

Okay, now I'm confused because it sounds like you're talking about two different doors and different lights.

Side door, when opened will turn on the indicator on the dash and the overhead lights (if the switch is set). There is another light, down in the foot well or step, that usually has a switch right beside it. I don't know if that one comes on when the door is opened. I don't remember where the switch for the door is.

Rear door, when opened will turn on the indicator on the dash and the overhead lights (if the switch is set). The 'switch' for the rear door is inside the latch at the bottom of the door. If the door doesn't latch correctly, the dash indicator may flicker.

This would be much easier if I still had a Delica, so maybe one of the others can chime in, with pictures.

As for your sticky lock, WD40 or LPS will do - spray it right in where the key goes.

no same step light, mine does'nt have a switch? it just comes on when you open the tailgate or slider.
and thanks, that explains the door ajar light, mine is seriously jammed with dust.
I will have at it with Wd, I just wasn't sure if there was a switch i wasn't seeing somewhere on the tailgate.
thanks a bunch!

You could, but it helps with air flow through and out of the vehicle. Unfortunately, it also allows dust into the vehicle when travelling down dusty roads.

It's to let air out. If driving on dusty roads, have the front ventilation fan running to "pressurize" the Delica to keep dust from coming in the back.
