Glowshift 3 in 1 gauges.

Post by prairiefire »

Just wondering if anyone is running any gauges from them and what luck they have had with them. I'm looking at installing this one in my L400 Spacegear.

I would recommend you look at other brands. I didn't like the 3-in-1 after all; hard to read display (scratches up way too easily, and loads of glare), and it failed on me within 2 months.

Also why do you want a boost scale up to 60psi? You would use just max 1/3 anyway.
I would rather spend the money on a good/reliable pyro.

I will be installing mine in the next 2 months. (Away on business at the moment)

I saw RichD's Glowshift, and he made the good point that while being able to see the boost is neat, it is hard to read the temp gauges. And, since the pyro is the most important of those 3 gauges it is the one you would want to see on the dial.

Either way, I hope to have it installed on my L400 in October so I will keep you posted.

I was also looking at the Autometer Ultralite series. Lordco has them in their warehouse locally. Just checked prices today. Pyro=$155, Boost/Vac=$65 and Oil Pressure=$215. I like the set-up Jesse(jfarsang) has in his L400. I might do that as my inclinometer is busted.

I tried a Pyro from Glow shift.....hard to read in bright sunlight, then the illuminated needle stopped being illuminated after only 3 months. It is now barely readable...Useless POS. Will be upgrading to Autometer or similar soon.
