Sorry I know you guys in Canada don't have these models yet. I am a BC boy and am traveling in New Zealand right now. We bought a year 2000 L300 LWB 2WD that had been geto camperized with 290K KMs.
I went looking for my EGR today to see if I could block it off. I cant find it or don't see it.
I have had a quick look around other forums and google searched for EGR 4D56T. I have seen a couple of threads about people blocking there EGR on 2000 and later Pajero's.
One other question. What is the round cylinder at the back of the intake manifold that I have circled in red? The top of it spins and it seems to be some sort of pressure control for the intake manifold.
Any input would be welcome.
Cheers

Is there an EGR on a 2000 L300 4D56T??

The cylindrical item circled in red is your wastegate for the turbocharger. Looking at those pictures it appears that you do not an EGR valve.
On my 4D56T, the EGR was connected to the elbow joint adjoining the turbo to the intake manifold.Your elbow joint does not appear to have the platform to mount an EGR valve.

In the photo on the left you can see the wastegate in the background, behind the breather tube and the EGR valve is the shiny unit in the foreground. Note the difference between your engine's elbow and my engine's elbow.
To all indications seen it appears that your engine does not even come with an EGR valve or that the elbow was replaced.... Interesting.

I think the circled item is the 15psi popoff for the inlet manifold, the waste gate sits beside it and is fed by a boost pipe. Doesn't look like there is an EGR, or even provision for fitting one.

Thats sucks for me. I was hoping to get some better milage out of this thing. Not to impressed by the milage at all. I had a early 90's dodge with a cummins and it got about the same milage but had 3 times as much torque.
I don't think its the waste gate circled in red. The waste gate actuator is just next to it and it connects to the turbo.
Thanks for your guys replies.

The wastegate actuator is the cylindrical device with a hose running off of it and the metal rod going into the bottom of it. You see it clearly in the last two pictures of the original post by Slimdog. You will also find reference to it on 15-3 of the MMC Intake And Exhaust shop manual, which can be found in L300 Delica Downloads.

The circled item is most definitely the pressure relief valve since he described it having a top that spins, the wastegate actuator does not have a top that spins.
