Stereo Wiring Harness

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Stereo Wiring Harness

Post by Jordan »

I am working on Stereo 2.0 after my first one was stolen and noticed a couple discrepancies in the wiring diagram and wanted to double check.

I have been going off of this:

Everything on the wiring harness matches up except for:

Left rear + and Left rear - are switched

and

Right rear + and Right rear - are also switched.

is the diagram correct or is the wiring harness correct?

Not sure if this will help, but try "+dodge colt harness" on the search tab.

Good info there.
Thanks,

If you know the lines are switched, then use them as they work.

There are two things to take note of: Mitsubishi doesn't use the North American wire colour-code convention; and after 20 years white might look like grey (or vice versa).

I just rewired my stereo and found the same issues. I simple tested every lead until they worked in the speaker I wanted. You may have to do the same. Whether the speaker or the wire harness itself, I have found a lot of time the colours really don't mean much.

I traced the wires and in this circumstance the wiring harness was correct. The 2 rear speakers polarity was reversed on the online digram i was going off.

Jay of the TardisDeli posted the wiring colour code and functions here

Hope that helps. Christine.
