New Delica, Alternator not working & white smoke on startup

Post by SamIAm »

I LOVE this vehicle, and honestly it is the funnest thing to drive around. Feels like I'm driving a little school bus.

93 Delica Exceed Starwagon Turbo-D

That being said, I have some issues that need remedy, your help- I am grateful.

1. Parts- where do I find parts for this thing?
Need a new back window, alternator and to get this white smoke thing fixed.

2. White smoke on startup. For about 60 seconds the delica sputters and puffs thick white smoke. After I leave it for a few hours (3, 4) it puffs the white smoke again only less. Overnight it takes more than 60 seconds to clear the white smoke then she puffs clear. I really don't like to fog up the neighbourhood and have had a few people and their dog sprint through the cloud early morning. Funny yes, though I don't want t make a habit of it.

Any experience and fixes?

3. Alternator. Are there alternators that will work in this unit? I can't seem to find a part number at any of the auto parts stores.

Want to get her running good. Plan to have her for a long while.

Hi, you must be Sam... smiles. Welcome to Delica Canada, Sam :M

I have moved your post to L300 Technical (for the Starwagon), you will get more response for this subject here. This is also a good forum to peruse for these matters. When using the search engine I found fourteen pages regarding white smoke, which will give you a head start on the matter, as I am sure you will receive many helping hands before too long... smiles.
