YOU COULD ADD STRONGER COILS, BUT AIRBAGS ARE MORE VERSATILE!

What is the nose weight of the trailer the springs may also just be sagging with age and a pair of ironman springs may solve the problem.

I've got the same issue. I suspect the coils are tired but I don't want to put HD springs in and loose my comfort ride. We travel Wpg to BC ALOT. Airbags is what I am starting to seriously consider. I'm not crazy about how the Firestone slip in the coil plastic looking ones as they don't look very durable and am considering finding some more "truck" type rubber ones. Problem at this point is finding the right one to mod for the L400. I plan to do this for the summer vacation. Has anybody else looked into this?

I've sorta got the oppostie complaint. I think the standard-issue L400 has a fair amount of unsprung weight, so it's pretty choppy over little bumps around town.
The best ride quality I ever had was when I was hauling about 600 lbs of turf stacked up over the rear wheels. Smoooth!
So yeah - air bags'd be a neat upgrade.

Is it possible you're just got more tongue weight than you should have? Unless it's a really big trailer, if one reasonably strong person can't lift the tongue off the hitch there's probably too much load on it.

3 kids, a dog, a full rack on top and she is saggying. I haven't even got a hitch on her yet.

Tongue weight is generally not supposed to exceed 10% of total trailer weight.
