Re: Need alternator & battery isolator advice please

Just a note here, those 6volts require a pretty skokum charging system, and from what I've read about the alternators in the Delicas, I'm not sure that they are big enough to charge up the batteries if you drain them down. You'll want to check the batteries with a hydrometer, and if they aren't char...

Re: WVO Tanks

I have a question. What about the tanks being certified for fuel and crashes? My guess is that the used Jeep tank would be considered certified, but I wonder how a commercial inspector is going to feel about a fuel tank in the passenger compartment. Technically I'm not even allowed to take our forkl...

Re: Welcome to the Pajero Section!

OK I'm slow , I only just found this part, boy am I clever. I shall be keeping an eye on this part, because a Pajero is quite close to the top of my list for a new vehicle. Just out of curiousity, is the powertrain in the Delica and Pajero the same?

Re: Delica Expedition Vehicle

I know this is off topic, but Breadman that is a nice Nissan. How do you like it so far? How does it compare to the Delica for fuel mileage etc? I must admit that you caught my attention with the statement that Nissan will ship you parts, and include the shipping. My uncle had a Patrol in Trinidad a...

Re: Brand Question

Well I did say I expected a bias, but from what I've seen this is a knowledgable group who are happy to share, for which I am grateful. Jester, I must admit to being surprised that you can do a 50/50 mix in your Mack, I've been told by several good heavy duty mechanics that in commercial truck engin...

Brand Question

Ok, I have a question, and yes I expect a bias here, but i thought I'd ask. I really like the idea of running biodiesel, with an eye towards running WVO or SVO at some point. I have been told that the toyota diesels are well suited to this because they are very durable, to the point that they will r...

Re: Trickle Charging with Solar...

Hi all, I used to be in the battery business, it was a long time ago but some of the knowledge still gets loose from time to time. Those little solar panels from CT are unlikely to kill your battery, especially around here. The larger panels that you can get for sail boats and rvs can damage batteri...

Re: Child seats

Thank you all for the info. I was curious about doing this in an older vehicle, especially one from Japan, since both of my current vehicles were modified by the dealer. This definately makes my next vehicle choice easier.

Child seats

I'm guessing there are probably some people with kids on this forum, so I have a question. Can these vans, or any of the JDM sport utes accommidate the tether systems on the modern car seats? I mean to be legal we need to use them, I had to send my truck into the dealer to be retro fitted with the s...

Re: Hallo

Thank you all for the helpful insight. I must admit a bias or a more conventional lay out in a vehicle. I drive cab over trucks and conventional trucks, and afters years of experience it's a preference thing. Having said that, after reading alot of the posts here I will at least test drive a Delica....

Hallo

Hallo all! My name is Simon, I live on Vancouver Island, and I seem to be the new guy here. Please forgive me for and social gaffs I may make (and spelling errors), but this is the first forum I have joined. I am a truck driver, so many of you have probably passed me, and each time you do I always a...
