Mechanic in Kamloops?

Hi,

I'm moving to Kamloops shortly, can anyone recommend a good, Deli friendly mechanic there?

Thanks, Matt

Re: Winter vs All-season tread

My two cents is, I just bought new all seasons and I'll use them for the first winter, they have plenty o tread. Next winter I'll put on real winter tyres. But running winters in summer is a bit like burning money.

Re: Cold Weather Delica Owners

BRRRR! -27, I stuck on a an oil pan heater, squeezed in another battery, and after some quality cranking, she fires up and goes. The second battery is a must though, it takes quite a bit of cranking even when the heating pad's been on for a while, I hope it's enough if I need to start with no plug i...

Re: anyone using a hatchback mounted bicycle carrier?

Yep, I use this one from the co-op: http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441956979&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302692829&bmUID=1193081262935 It works ok. I make sure to check the attachments often. I've used it all summer, often with 3 big bikes on it, and...

Re: Clutch

Is there anything to do to fix it? Or does it need to be replaced? Do you know the cost yet?

Re: Loss of power.

I got some dbf 4 from Napa. It says it prevents bacterial growth as well as fuel conditioning. Thanks for the heads up on this!

Re: Strap on Bike Racks

I've been using this one from mec http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441956979&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302692829&bmUID=1190953360891 So far nothing has fallen off, the straps do occasionally come lose so I check it periodically, but so far I've gotte...

Clutch

Hi, When I start my van the clutch pedal is always down by the floor. I have to pull it up with my foot. There is little pressure until I have been driving for a while, when the clutch is often (but not always) back up where it should be with lots of pressure. Is this a cylinder problem, I have chec...

Re: Oil change

And I have another question. How do I tell the difference between a good and bad filter? So far I've just found one that fits and changed the oil and filter every 5000. The oil is always black, even shortly after a change, so I don't know what to look for.

Re: Oil change

I got a ph6355 from lordco in Vancouver. It worked fine but they charged me about $45 for it. I don't really appreciate their variable hosing policy so I go elsewhere now.

Re: Oil change

I've been getting oil filters from NAPA, #1067, about $33. Has worked fine so far. Does anyone know a reason I shouldn't use these?

Re: Alignment

Thanks, new tires made a big difference. Now I want to do the torsion bar adjustment, so I'll need to get the alignment done after that.

Re: Towing capacity automatic versus manual

On a hiking trip last weekend we got 6 people, 2 dogs, camping gear for all, internal load, no problem! The van was on fire, 90 km up some decent hills! It does enjoy the cooler weather though. I think the turbo with no intercooler benefits from cold air.

Alignment

Hi, I asked a local shop about doing alignment on my van, they weren't sure if they could. I don't know much about it myself. Is it a relatively simple thing that they should be able to do easily enough-ie. just like most other vehicles? Or even better, does anyone know a good place in Prince George...
