rear wheel cylinders

Post by robinimpey »

Can anyone tell me the best way to take care of my rear wheel cylinders? They are leaking a little and need either need new seals or entire cylinders. Can I buy the right wheel cylinders but for a different Mitsubishi vehicle from NAPA, Parts Source or another auto parts store?

I just bought some generic $4 wheelcylinder seals (the size is on the wheel cylinder, 13/16 I think???), cut the lip off of the stock pistons that hold the stock seal on, cleaned, reassembled, added a spring in the middle. Works good.

Part number for rear wheel cylinder : LH MB500484/ RH MB500485. You can buy the kit as well like robinimpey described. They are about $65 for the complete cylinder.

Are the MB500484 and MB500485 numbers OEM Mitsubishi parts numbers or NAPA numbers?

These are Mitsubishi numbers and NAPA had no trouble getting the parts for me the next day. They were only 20 some dollars each.

Good stuff. Thanks! I was also able to find the parts from Rocky Mountain Imports. http://www.rockymountainimports.net John was very helpful and gets back to you very quickly via e-mail. $65 for the cylinders and $90 for the shoes. He's also throwing in some used headlight bulbs for me at no charge. Great service.
