a winter parked

Post by lighthouse »

alright folks,

so i had the delica parked all winter here in edmonton, hasnt been fired up since january. the batteries were stored indoors on a shelf. today i reinstalled the batteries and tried to restart it, but it didnt take. the lights, windows ect were all strong. the glow plugs clcik once, but dont click over a second time (ie dont warm up) and you can here the starter solenoid engage but it doesnt even try to turn the motor.

you think its just weak batteries? would that make sense? i got the trickle charger on it tonight and will try again in the morning, but im just trying to field some ideas. hope its not the starter.

thanks all! cant wait to get it fored up for another summer.

make sure you connected all the connectors on top of the batteries properly. I had a simmilar problem when i crossed two of those, give that a try!

Also when i pull the battery for my motorcycle i put a battery tender on it, its a battery charge maintainer, might be something to consider for the van batteries next winter!
