Floating "lino" floor
I replaced the carpet in the back of Hazel today and thought some others might be interested in a few pics of my little project. I was planning to use thin plywood with glue on linoleum, but found this funky lino-like stuff that doesn't want to be glued down so I laid out some felt and this stuff over-top. Easier to clean and new. Works for me. Now about that bed set-up...

Re: Floating "lino" floor
Thanks for the positive comments guys! I have made a minor upgrade by jig-sawing out a piece of 1/4" plywood to fit in the very back section up to and butting against the stock foam underlay under the bench seat. This will be more durable and will make a better, more solid surface to support the soon-to-be-built-bed frame than the soft felt I used at first

You know what? You should remove the bench and replace it with diner chairs!

I dig the tessellated pavement design Konadog, what moved you to pick that design?

Re: Floating "lino" floor
I like it! I ripped out the carpets too, and a trip to End of The Roll for a soundproof underlay, some plywood for the subfloor, and another trip to the ReStore resulted in this....along with some beers and a jigsaw.
Much easier to keep clean, and since I don't have my own house, I have to settle for renovating my van!

Re: Floating "lino" floor
Very nice! Love having the back seats gone and the crisp clean look and feel of the smooth floor. We took up all the carpets in our house too
shudder. Way healthier now. Anyone have pics of other flooring solutions? I heard of a real hardwood floor out there somewhere and asorensen posted his awesome checker-plate job in http://www.delica.ca/forum/most-of-my-m ... -2530.html. Would love to see some more
