Hey everybody,
I also just got a 91 Delica Exceed and I'm stoked!!! I'm picking the van up in the next couple days, then we're taking a trip out to Revelstoke next week to get a feel for the vehicle and do some skiing... woohoo!!!
Looks like you guys have a great forum going on here and I'm excited to be able to pick your brains...
- so.... My delica's tires aren't so shabby right now, and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good size, tread, etc. I'll be doing quite a bit of highway driving, but also some logging roads and camping off-road stuff too.... Any thoughts on tires that might fit those needs, but give reasonable fuel mileage at the same time? ...and where in Vancouver can I get them!?!

Welcome and Congarts on your new Delica!
The Delica's will fit 235/75/15 and 30' x 9.5/15 rubber quite easily, any bigger seems to require trimming in the wheel wells. A popular tires is the BF Goodrich All Terrains, viewtopic.php?t=214.

Sounds like you already ahve some cool plans for the motor and I know it will more than live up to the role of keeping you VERY happy! :D :D
As BCDelica says, BFG's are the ones to go for! Outstanding all rounder (I'm talking All Terrains)
Good on Tarmac - nice wet & dry grip and superb in the dirt/sand/snow etc....
The tread just seems to slast FOREVER and all the sets I've ever had have perished before the tread has got near wearing out!

Question: I'm a little worried about highway driving with such an aggressive tread.... Are they loud?
Am I compromising fuel efficiency much? I'm asking because I do intend to do some lengthy road trips.....

Road noise not too much of a consideration with this type of tread.
Yes, there is a marginal increase in noise, but you'll only notice it if you manage to cut out any engine noise due to sitting on top of it, or reduce wind noise from such a boxy shape!
At any significant speed where tyre noise would be an issue, these two factors (which are slightly harder to change) will be more of an issue than any noise BFG A/T's can attempt to create!
It's only when you get into the realms of aggressive mud terrain tyres (like the Mickey T's I have on mine at the mo) that you start to worry about noise!
BFG A/T's are fantastic all rounders, and that also includes road noise too!
Yes you can get quieter tyres, but not by much and you certainly won't find anything quieter that can do so much and do it as well as the BFG's....
Trust me on this....you won't find a better all round tyre! :D :D

BFG All Terrains or Bridgestone Dueler Revo's - Basically to compare these tires - the Bridgestone Revo is a solid on road performer in all onroad conditions, and it will hold it's own off-road, and the BFG All Terrain is sort of the opposite - it's a solid performer off-road, and it will hold it's own onroad. Many feel the Bridgestone is much more refined on road - slightly quieter ride, better rain performance - both tires supposedly have excellent snow performance.
BFG Long Trail T/A and BFG Mud Terrains are louder then there All Terrains.
People also swear by Cooper's and Yokohama's for a quiet off road tire. We have Michelin LTX's on all company trucks, surprisingly noisy and pricey, but they last a long time. Seeing allot of Falken tires around town, too noisy even though they don't look super 'blocky'.
The only negative about my BFG All Terrains is the rock throwing going on in the fenders; when going from gravel to blacktop. Otherwise they are a perfect tire for my use - mostly on road with long logging road excursions bi-monthly at least.
