Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

I got my Rotella at Can Tire in NVan - but did notice last time that they were sold out.

Framm is awful oil filter.

You can go with Baldwin BD 28, made in USA.

Good luck!

Me and Mardy imported Advantage filters about one year ago. We ran out of them months ago and never ordered it as we found new source of filters. When did you buy last time? Now we only sell Japanese brand Sakura and Micro.

I picked up a few Advantage air filters, and I was a bit concerned about the quality too. When I counted the pleats, it had about 75 compared to 120 in the Micro air filter that it replaced. That's a LOT less surface area of filter, and I'll have to change it out sooner. Sure it was cheaper but you get what you pay for. For oil changes, I use the Napa gold 1067 filter ($33) and Rotella. Don't want to cut corners with something so crucial to my engine.

A while back I called a Mr Lube on Macleod Trail, the kid on the phone really wanted to help, couldn't find the filter on his computer (of course) but was willing to let me bring my own. Unfortunately they didn't have enough of the oil I wanted. I called another one several blocks down the road from them, under the same ownership, and got nothing but attitude and the 'we don't work on Japanese spec cars' BS. Probably a good thing, from all the horror stories I've heard.

usually the Napa filter is made in korea. sabbir has his own brand of filter now ,so do have my own brnad filter made in japan. even wix some of them are made in indonesia. baldwin some of them also made in asia.
all of them are mostly off shore as they have a cheaper labor than in US or canada. so its just depend on the quality how they made. not all asian filter is bad. it depend how you order the spec you want for the oil filter you are using.
hope this help:
Cheers;

I'm sure no expert, but my two cents says use what ever filter you can get that fits (I got a half dozen Sakura from Mdrive myself) and, hopefully not pay more than about $20.00. Thing about oil filters is that they are temporary. Seems I no sooner get one in with some fresh oil than it's time to switch it for a new one :o Do oil changes often :-D

You right, oil filters are temporary, but they are VITAL for your engine, the most expensive part of your Deli I guess.

So, never ever use whatever! Nice saying, huh?!

Use Baldwin BD 28. Made in USA, professional heavy duty for diesel. Buy at any Peterbilt dealership. Minimum they sold 6 of them, but they have long shelf life, so do not worry for years. In that case cost for one filter below $20.

Good luck!

Good tip, thanks. I'll look into those locally when I start to run low on my supply of Sakuras, and with oil changes every 3,500km, it'll be soon! :M :-D

No problem!

But why do you have 3,500 km oil change interval?
AFAIK it should be 5,000 km and if you use synthetic oil you can skip one filter change, so oil change every 5,000 km and oil filter every 10,000 km.

I use Shell Rotella T SB 10W40, - great stuff. When I first time changed this oil, I was very glad and surprised, my Pajero was running like ANOTHER car. Huge difference. Lower working temperature, easy start, easy shifting, better mileage.

I found place where to get it, will update next week after order pick up.

Good luck!

Well, it started when I had my 71 VW bus and my speciality mechanic told me "there is just a little puddle of UNFILTERED oil standing between you and mechanical disaster - change your oil LOTS!!" When I got my Nissan truck I continued the habit. Hey, doing oil changes can be a little messy, but it doesn't take but 1/2 an hour. Better more often than necessary than not often enough. And at $20.00 I plan on changing the filter at every oil change - 10,000km sounds like a looooong time and as you pointed out, the oil and filter are absolutely vital to the happiness of the motor. (Btw, what's "AFAIK" stand for :?) Happy motoring :M :-D

AFAIK = as far as I know.

100% you can do oil change every 5,000 km as for oil filter it was research, confirming that nothing happened wrong if you'll change every 10,00 km. It is up to you, of cause. I cannot find it in the web, but you can try too.

Good luck
