stearing wheel replacement

I want to replace my steering wheel, for cosmedic sake only ,purly for the hell of it maybe somthin in wood or funky clear with gold flek in it,a little bling for my kick ass ride , is ther a place that has a wall of steering wheels to look at,and whos got one in there rig? was it a easy mod iv seen some Deli's with them in place when they come over but has anyone put one in .

I think eBay might be your best bet for selection. Lordco carries Grant steering wheels and hubs. I know they have a couple of wood ones to choose from. The trick is getting the correct steering wheel hub/boss for our vans so you can attach an aftermarket wheel.

Warmland89 (brother-in-law) had a Grant steering wheel kicking around and he managed to get a steering wheel hub from Lordco that mostly worked. The hub required a little modification to get it to work. I'll try and get a part number from him...now that I think of it he asked the guys at Lordco and they managed to find a hub that was for a Mitsubishi Van. It was not specific to a Delica but did mostly work.

I recently did a lot of research into this when I was looking to replace the nasty original wheel on the Mud Monkey.

If you guys get Momo goods out there in Canada then you are laughing because I can confirm the right boss/wheel adaptor for the L300.

try lordco,grant wheel. adapter boss is grant p/n 3390. goes on w/ no mods. listed as late 80s dodge colt

Can confirm that Part No. 3390 Grant Steering Wheel Boss worked perfectly with my Grant Leman steering wheel. Picked it up from Lordco for $33 and Lemans wheel off ebay for $80.

Wheel is slightly smaller than stock - and feels great. Highly recommended upgrade for anyone interested. Cannot confirm if it works for all Grant wheels - but certainly seems so. Took me about 45 minutes from start to finish and I did have some confusion because the Grant wheel I received was partially constructed already by the previous owner (made instructions received with the boss a little difficult to understand).

Go for it!!!!

THanks to you guys for the heads up on the Grant kit #3390. I also bought a 30 year old Grant GT wheel off eBay for $40.00 after I had the deteriorating foam/horn problem, and ordered the 3390 conversion kit (wholesale price is $22.00) and it worked perfectly. Did not even need a wheel puller to remove the stock Mitsubishi wheel. From what I could see, it appeared to me that you would be able to use that kit to fit any Grant wheel to a Delica. As noted the Grant wheel is smaller and as I have not driven it yet, I'm wondering if the smaller wheel will have any downsides? I suppose the upside will include more leg room.

The horn only works if I press the bottom of the center disc, think I'll leave it that way rather than fiddle with it and perhaps make it worse.

The custom wheel on mine is smaller too. I find it puts my knuckles in just the right place to switch my wipers on when turning it sometimes. (No, I know what you're all thinking - this is accidental, and after I've already signaled with my right hand lever.)

Thanks Jim, I just noticed the same thing, the clearance between the smaller wheel and the wiper switch arm is pretty tight. Otherwise the smaller size doesn't seem to be a problem, with the smaller wheel if you ajust it to the lowest postion you can see the top of the speedo a bit better.

Yeah, I forgot to mention dash visibility- not as good- although the top position for the wheel gives me the best view; you must be taller than me.

I do like the feel of it though - less like driving a bus.

I have a 1994 Space Gear L400 and the steering wheel is badly cut up from someones rings. Will I lose the airbag if I use an after market wheel??
Anyone have a clean wheel I am interested
