I'm loving my new Delica and my experience at the drive-thru last night was comical. That said, I'm having some technical glitches with the driver's side door. The door, and all the other doors, lock successfully with the key but the reverse is not true. When trying to unlock the driver's side door I'm not able to unlock the driver door, or any of the other doors for that matter. Has anyone had any experience with this one?
Hiking up and over the central console is not a graceful option.
Thanks.

Re: driver's side door lock
what happens when you try? does the key simply not turn? or does it turn and do nothing? if you "jiggle" the key a bit can you get it to turn? does it work with the lock knob inside?I'm not able to unlock the driver door
possible options:
- the lock cylinder (or key) are worn out to the point that it doesn't want to turn that direction, a new key may solve it, however if you only have the one key, getting a replacement that's any better will be challenging... quick fix would be some oil or graphite in the lock (though graphite does wear on the lock cylinder so isn't a great solution)
- if the lock pull knob inside has the same problem, then I'm inlcined to think that the mechanism inside the door is jamming on something, the only real way to prove this will be to pull the door panel off and try some things... see if you can see what it's catching on, or simply oil all the mechanisms and see...
that's about it off the top of my head...

Re: driver's side door lock
Thanks for the quick reply Green 1. Here's a little more detail on the problem....
The lock knob on the inside works just fine unlocking the driver's door and all the other doors as it should. When I insert the key into the driver's door I'm able to rotate it clockwise (lock?) freely but it won't rotate counterclockwise (unlock?) at all. Jiggling the key, inserting it part way, standing on one leg while holding my breath...nothing seems to work. I've got two keys, one of which is the original MMC key, and they both have the same effect, as in none. I'll try a little oil in the lock and see what happens. From your diagnosis it sounds like the mechanism itself may be just fine it's the lock itself that may be the culprit. Either way I may just take of the interior panel to poke around, I'm annoyingly curious that way.
