Hi From T.O.

Post by CYYZ Deli »

Hello All,
My wife & I picked up a '91 Super Exceed in the middle of October. We had to replace a Subaru Outback that was getting tired, that and the kids were gettin' bigger (more junk). After lurking around the site, I figure it's time for an intro. I'm just about to install or rather have someone install a block heater (It's too cold without a garage). We had a trailer hitch put on & winter tires, next on the list is a ladder/roof rack combo but that'll probably wait until spring, nothing but money & common sense holding us back. The only negative is the van won't fit in the parkade at work...tsk.
We had "Cletus" imported through http://www.rightdrive.ca here in Toronto, they seem to be more into sports cars than vans. However the whole process went well enough.
We've met one other Delica driver here in the big smoke, hopefully a few more will turn up our way. This site has been a wealth of info & is very much appreciated.

Happy 2010,
Eric & Kate

Here's Cletus up at the cottage (Bruce Peninsula).

Welcome and congrats on your new van, she looks awesome! (White Delica are by far the nicest ones!)

Seems like there's a few of you guys now in Ontario, but still rare enough that people must do the rubber neck when they see you driving. Get ready to answer a lot of questions! And when they say, "hey, you're steering wheel is on the wrong side" just tell them "No, it's on the right side!"

Cheers,

Hello and welcome: Nice ride I am partial to the white with crystal lite myself. My wife and I have loved driving our deli so far. I love the fact that it is such a unique vehicle in Ontario still. I always feel like I am on parade. In my family we laugh and say the Delica is not a chick magnet it is a middle age men magnet.

Hopefully we can connect in the spring or summer for a Ontario Delica meet.

Hey Thats a nice looking van. The cottage looks good to I must say it makes me miss Muskoka a bit. Snow don't seem so bad when
it 2 degrees out and the rain is starting to run down the back of your neck. Welcome to the forum.

Hey, today it is sooo cold in Vancouver that I think I will wear a long sleeve shirt!

Welcome to Delica Canada, Eric & Kate :M ~ Cletus is a sweet looking Starwagon. If this keeps up we are going to have to add an "Events-Onterrible" page! I look forward to hearing about your adventures with Cletus.

Greetings to the big smoke. Welcome to the world of Delicas. There is no problem with block heaters, you can find the part numbers here -- mine is a Temro 30-3217-6, but you will see others.

As you can see from my photos, I've got a rack and ladder. One thing to keep in mind, your tailgate might not stay up by itself with the added weight of the ladder. Mine is okay above 10C, but below that it won't stay up.

Thanks for all the tips/comments, it seems Delica owners are a nice bunch. We'll endeavour to keep up the reputation. I'll keep that in mind about the ladder, it won't happen until late spring at the earliest.

Cheers,
Eric
