What the heck are all those antennae for? I have
4 plugs sticking out of my glove box, and I don't have anything cool
to stick them into!!
How hard is it to re-calibrate the radio so it works in
North America?

Re: Antennae
all those antenae? depends on what the previous owner had fitted... many had TV hooked up, that may explain it... factory stock though they only have one antenna and it's on the "A" piller driver's side and is for the stock stereo.
There are 2 ways to get the stereo to pick up north american FM band, the first is a band expander module that can allow the stock stereo to operate over the whole band, but keep in mind the numbers on the display won't match reality.
or the other, much more popular, method is a new stereo. most people like to do this anyway to get better quality and features.

Re: Antennae
The plugs are standard across Mitsubishis of that vintage -- I took the stock stereo from my '91 Mitsubishi Colt and popped it in the '92 Delica without any problems.
Re: Antennae
I have 2 pillars, each with 2 antennae, in addition to the regular radio antenna on the driver's side. They are on the rear corners of the roof, and they read, "City Road Diversity
Antenna." The cords with plugs in my glove box correspond to these.

Re: Antennae
no idea... I'm sure it's something that the previous owner fitted custom, probably best to ignore and/or remove as they aren't likely to be much use to you, stick to the factory antenna on the driver's side "A" pillar

Re: Antennae
From what I have found the diversity antenna system is basically two fm antenna's that compare signals, any signal present in one but not the other is concidered interference or noise and is cancelled. It is bascally used to obtain the best/cleanest radio signal. It seems a lot of manufacturers Toyota, VW, etc are starting to offer diversity antenna's in their 2007/2008 models. I have never seen this system up close, so I can't help with wiring questions.
