Service Tech Data - Fluid Capacities

Post by jessef »

Please note that these amounts are for completely empty sumps etc and will probably not be the true amount to add after fluid changes due to amounts staying in sumps and coolers etc ,always measure the amount you drain out to avoid overfilling or under filling.

Engine Oil 2.8TD 8.3 Litres Suitable diesel oil Grade
Manual trans oil (van )4wd 2.2 Litres SAE80/90W GL-5gear lube
Manual trans oil (wagon) 3.7 Litres " " " " "
Auto trans oil 4wd 8.5 Litres DEXRON 11 ATF FLUID
Transfer case (4wd) 2.5 Litres SAE80/90W GL-5 lube
Diff oil Rear No LSD short 1.6 Litres HD 75/90 Gear Oil
" " " " " " Long 2.6 Litres " " " "
Diff oil Rear LSD Short 1.6 Litres CASTROL HYPOY LS
" " " " Long 2.6 Litres " " "
Power steering fluid 1.0 Litre DEXRON 11 or MERCRON
Coolant 11.0 Litres 50/50 MIX Antifreeze

Hope that helps ,These capacities are as i said for the L400 2.8TD units (4m40) engine. And all fluid grades are believed to be correct as stated in the Haynes Manual
