We recently purchased a 1995 L400 and we live just south of Whitehorse near Carcross, Yukon (where there's a L300 too). We're also owners of a Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ81 (and previously a Nissan Terrano which was a great machine), but more importantly, we're trying to find other two or three Delica owner's in the Yukon.
If you're in the Yukon can you send me your tel. #, perhaps we can do bulk purchases of parts and maintenance.
For other Delica and Cruiser owners, drop us a line if you're doing a road trip in the Yukon, you have a place to stay here.
cheers,
Greg, Krystal and family

Re: New Yukon Owner
Welcome Greg, Krystal and family to delica.ca! You live in such a beautiful area of this country. We made it through Carcross last year and had a little drive on the dunes :)

Re: New Yukon Owner
Hi Greg and Krystal,
It looks like we are moving ahead with an 1996 L400 purchase through Mardy at Amazing Autos. If you don't mind I thought I would field a couple of questions about having a Delica in a cold environment. The model that I was partial to was the Chamonix due to the double battery. Have you had any issues with starting and running in the winter months? Also, I'm from Victoria, BC and have been driving an 89' Toyota RHD Sprint Carib for may years. Our insurance monopoly (ICBC) has no problem insuring our vehicle to the tune of ~$500 for the year as a rec vehicle. I've never been in an accident. I was wondering which group you go through and perhaps what I can expect to pay for basic insurance? If your not too tired of the questions I have one more rather open ended one: is your vehicle relatively maintenance free and reliable? Our Toyota has needed nothing more than regular maintenance for over 6 years and I was getting rather used to not having to repair our vehicles. And yes, I would be interested in chatting. I moved hear two days ago to do some Electrical work, my wife is a GP and will be coming up in the next week with our two young ones. Look forward to chatting in the future.
Glad to be in the Yukon!
Martin

Re: New Yukon Owner
Welcome.
It has been nice to see the delica slowly infect the North. I am in the Ibex Valley 1 km past the city limits, if you are driving around in that area and you see the best looking white L300 North of 60 (it is not a steep competition as there are only 2 white ones) parked in the driveway stop in and say "hi"
