Re: Broken spare tire hanger
I moved my spare to the back and should have mine kicking around somewhere. I'll look tomorrow and let you know if I find it.

Re: I think I understand the "HOLD" mode on my transmission.
The PWR and HOLD switch will only work if the gear selector is in D rive and the O ver D rive is switched off. Once you engage the OD switch, shift into 1, 2, N, R or P the function of the PWR and HOLD switch are not applicable. Flibble, if you need 1st gear to hold you back going down a hill, use i...

Re: Fuel Additives
I'm a big fan of Stanadyne, I mostly use the lubricity formula since I frequently run Jet A and when I'm not concerned about fuel gelling up in my filter. Otherwise their performance formula is a great product that has proven itself to cover a lot of issues.

Remember these are Japanese vehicles, this function gives you "Hold" on the ground.

Re: Driver's Side Window Issues
Big-Bird is right, this is a safety feature where the extra load on the motor will cause it to reverse. Rather frustrating for my wife last year at -35 and she rolled the window down while driving to throw out a bananna peel and couldn't get it back up  :-D . I've had it happen on a regular b...

Re: Winter tires on Delica - or just All Terrain all year ro
Now I just need to find a set of winter rims that fit the L400 and don't cost a ton (damn 108mm centerbore). Old Toyota rims (like 90s 4Runners) all fit. I have a 4Runner (actually a Surf) and I swap my rims with the Paj at will. The slightly newer Toyota 16s should fit as well (my Harrier rims als...

Re: Winter tires on Delica - or just All Terrain all year ro
I personally have been running General Grabber AT2's since I bought my van, they have been GREAT. Snowflake approved and a very good year round tire. If you can only afford one set of tires, I recommend these. Be careful when ordering them though, not all sizes are "Snowflaked". I've been ...

Re: Low beam frequent burnout
Ryan, The best upgrade I ever did for my old L300 was a bulb upgrade. It just so happens that Lordco has a sale on their PIAA Extreme White bulbs, they made a HUGE difference in light output especially with the crappy projector low beams. They are 1/2 price and also have a one year replacement warra...

Re: What Diesel Fuel Additive do you use?
I highly recommend adding diesel as an additive. Has worked great for me so far. I was thinking maybe some JP-8... If you're going to be using JP-8, make sure you get some Stanadyne Lubricity Formula from Lordco. $11/bottle and it will provide the lubrication you will need. If I remember right it w...

Re: K&N filter for L400?
2871 fits great with some slight modifications and destruction of your stock filter.
The 2871 has quite a bit more surface area than the 2877 and since the whole idea is to increase the airflow...
I can try to post some pics of my install later if you like.

Re: Bull bar rework
Lordco, I think it was about $30/Qt.lrp374 wrote:Where you able to get the POR 15 locally or did you have to order it. I see KMS has it on sale but locally they only have clear which kinda defeats the purpose of painting over the rust! Nice job - loose the running boards.
Thanks.

Re: Oil Pressure Isolator for Oil Pressure Gauge
Mr. Flib, I would just T off your oil pressure switch location, it's accessible and easy to do. That's where I picked up oil supply for my bypass filter and it works great. I don't think you'll have any problems with pressure fluctuations damaging your sending unit. I think using the port on your s...

Bull bar rework
Just thought I'd share some pics of my somewhat rusty front end that I reworked. Light rust on the lower bull bars and chrome end bars, wire brushed and ready for POR-15. IMG_8648-2.jpeg IMG_4160.jpeg POR-15 applied along with 2 coats of underbody spray, ready for install. IMG_1668.jpeg While I was ...

Thanks Rick,RickJ wrote:Fishtank, Nice job. I am curious though... What is the chrome cylinder behind the air filter and below the master cylinder? A bypass filter?
Yes, it's a Frantz by-pass oil filter. I think it's been a great investment, easy install and easy replacement.
