Hi ! I am from Montreal, my idea would be to import a delica to Vancouver and drive it around for 3 weeks in BC but eventually also in the US before driving back to Montreal. I am pretty sure you can drive it in Canada for a few month with your japanese registration.
Are you planning to sell it at the end of your trip ? On the east coast ? I might be very interested :-D

was fast for me, and they are usually very promt to reply, they have a skype account and a chat customer service...

the most expensive ones I have seen went for 120.000 yens ! which websites are you using to participate to auctions in Japan ? I use http://www.idirect.co.jp have some of you ever used this company ? I am very surprised to see the average prices of delica, the most expensive ones I have seen went for 120.000 yens ! but most of them are in the 60-80000yens br...

while a pop-top roof may not be a bad idea... I don't think I'd want to try it on a vehicle that has a crystal-lite roof... maybe that would be better tried on a "standard" roof Deli (either low or high roof) have a look at this ! Found that on the UK forum .. : http://www.photobox.co.uk/...
