Accessing A/C low pressure port

Have folks here successfully located (and if necessary) refilled the refrigerant at the low pressure (low side) port for the L400 air conditioning? It would appear that this port is very much buried, and therefore difficult to access. Even if you remove the intercooler, accessing the L port in order...

Re: sunroof -- stuck open!

CVI is where I've been maintaining my Deli for the past few years. However, they don't do sunroofs, as I tried to make an appointment for exactly this on my last trip into Vancouver. They recommended a body shop instead. Perhaps I should give Rising Sun or Commbs a try… Thanks for all of the advice.

Re: sunroof -- stuck open!

Thanks for all of the help to date. I did not find that sunroof tool in my kit, but I did find an allen key that fits all the same. However, the sunroof does not want to budge at all. As you can see from the photo, it is almost there, but does not want to close down. I have pushed and prodded, but i...

Re: sunroof -- stuck open!

Rick and John: Awesome advice, both of you. Thanks so much for taking the time to help.

I'll let you know how this project goes after the weekend. The sooner I can keep the interior of my Delica protected from the rain, the better!

sunroof -- stuck open!

Hey all, Is there an easy repair for an L400 sunroof that is lodged open? Or at least a way to close it for the winter? It appears that there is a problem with the track, as the sunroof is not only wedged open but also slightly crooked (so that it won't seamlessly go back into place). Any ideas what...

Looking for Delica light

Hi all. I'm wondering if anybody recognizes this semi-decorative set of hard-wired lights that are often seen on the front of 1994 L400s. Some of the bulbs are going out, so it's not looking so great and I'd like to swap out both sets for new ones. I have visited the usual car parts outlets, and nob...

Re: L400 towing

Good information above. Especially about safety. Keep your speeds slow, especially if you are encountering high winds, slippery roads or other challenging weather. Check your trailer out thoroughly before departing to make sure tires, brake light hook-ups etc are in tip-top shape. We rented a UHaul ...

L400 alternator/battery?

Hi all. I have a Deli L400 that sadly won't start. Lights/radio/etc work when key is in the ignition. But the engine will not turn over when I try to start it up. Mind you, it is trying (pathetically)... it sounds like the starter is in slow motion. And it just dies out before it can turn turn over ...

Re: Does anybody have a spare green cap for parking pole?

Hi Falco,

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm totally considering it.

The question is, how do I ensure that it is threaded properly? After all, these caps screw into the pole.

What kind of material do you recommend?

Re: help! Roof deterioration on L400

Thanks all for your advice on this. It looks like I have my work cut out for me. At least it's not a rust issue. But I suppose it is a money and/or time issue. What I don't get is why other L400s of the same vintage aren't effected. Or, as JFarsang implied, do some of these vehicles get recoated bef...

help! Roof deterioration on L400

Hi forumers, As you can see, the roof of my L400 (which is have only had for a little over a year) is fast experiencing fading/blotching/spotting. I am unsure if this is the result of pollution, sunshine or rain. But I have not seen this problem on other L400s. deli-roof.jpg Does anybody here have i...

Re: DON'T BUY A CAR FROM JAPANOID....

Here's another reason I cringe at the thought of returning to Japanoid. Apparently they didn't have enough room to store my van overnight in their garage, so they left it in the cold New West night - where it was left to defend itself against the New West criminal class. Needless to say, when I pick...
