expansion bottle cap

Hey Thanks for the replies! I have the old one, as I mentioned. The problem is that the cap malfunctioned and caused the expansion tank to split because of excessive pressure (I tested the cap to off the gauge and it still didn't release). TigWeld4U has the tank but no caps, and so I want to get the...

expansion bottle cap

Hi everyone, It's been a while and I hope everyone is well. My 94 delica L400 has now surpassed the 300K kms mark and it is still rolling on (with upkeep and minor repairs of course). I've had a slow coolant leak over the winter and I've finally has time to track it down. The expansion bottle cap ha...

Re: front end "clink"

OK, I had all the mud guards and bash plates off while the L400 was in for its yearly Krown treatment. The rubber grommets on the rear most bash plate have been in pretty bad shape for a while, but I never got around to finding replacements and with all these meal plates off 90% of the front end noi...

Re: front end "clink"

Hey thanks MD for the suggestion. I did check all this out when I put in the new axle and I just did another check now. Tie rods, ends and steering rack is solid. It really is the play in the cv shaft that makes the sound. I can reach behind the wheel and give the cv shaft I quick pull and push and ...

Re: front end "clink"

Hi Big-Bird, The hubs are stock and all the parts are there (the inside brass "spacer", the thin washer and spring clip) and I've greased it all adequately. The wheel bearings are fine and overall the front end is in very good shape. It's just the "clink' going over small bumps that a...

front end "clink"

Hi Everyone, Been a while. I recently had an axle shaft dislocate (driver side shaft inside the axle, circlip let go) and when I replaced the differential/axle shaft (thanks Graham at Coombs) I repacked the cv joints and replaced the upper and lower ball joints. I cleaned everything up and also repl...

Oil Pan Gasket

Hi Everyone,

Long time ...

Just searched the site to see if anyone has changed their oil pan gasket (mine is 94 L400 swb) and I did not get any results.

Anyone know how hard this is to do?

Thanks, djelica

Re: L400 Headlight Problems

Hi Big-Bird Thanks for your reply. Doesn't really matter what's in the van now. Maybe it is just the glass, but the bulb sizes for low beam is not the same as what I am putting in (a first series unit, what it should have). I just need to know what bulb it uses. I'm confused because all I can find a...

Re: L400 Headlight Problems

I need a bulb for my 1st generation L400 (1994). My van was retrofitted with 2nd generation L400 headlamps and I've broken one so I'm going back to the original set-up. I have the new headlamp, but need bulbs. I have figured out the highbeam but need to find the right low beam. I can only find dual ...

Re: Injectors

Thanks everyone for your input.

So they can be adjusted. Anyone know what Mitsubishi recommends for servicing? Again I just want to do the right thing and have my L400 run as long as possible.

Cheers, Darren

Re: Injectors

This is why I am seeking input. Nothing is ever that simple it seems. Is there any indication, other than actually measuring, that you might need to adjust the valves? Noises, smells bad or ? Anyone know what the recommended maintenance (from Mitsubishi) is one the L400? I should do a search myself ...

Re: Injectors

Thanks 403delica for your input. I used to own many old VW vans and spent a lot of time in the dirt adjusting the lifters. The holy grail of VW for me was to get into the hydraulic system, but I got over my VW addition before that ever happened. So, because they are hydraulic you don't adjust, or ca...

Re: Glowplugs again (sorry)

Thanks Diver,

This is what I am looking to do. Just need to decide what way (clean the old ones, replace and recalibrate the nozzles, replace with OEM or go with Hyundai).

Cheers, Darren

Re: Injectors

Hey Jason, Thanks again for all the info you provide. It really is helpful. Can you elaborate on "valve adjustment" for the 4M40? Does the overhead cam and hydraulic lifter mean that you don't "need" to adjust the valves or that there is no easy way to do it (I've seen complicate...
