I've found some New/Old Delica Inspiration!!

You forgot the parachute that came with the set also. I too remember that toy amongst other vans and led to the same series of vans later in life - Westphalia, Chevy van, and now L300.

Re: How strong are the "gutters" on the L300

I've got Thule racks and often carry a Yakima cargo box plus 3 to 4 kayaks with stuff loaded into them. I'd say I'd easily have 400 pounds + on the roof. Along with that I have one of those fold up ladders that legs rest on the ground while the top hooks on the rain gutter. I'm 180ish plus the load ...

Re: BC Delica owner moving to California... time to sell? Or put it in mothballs? Or...?

I lived in Massachusetts for 1.5 years with Alberta plates. wasn't a Delica but a Westphalia. I kept my insurance paid up, went home to NB every couple months. Not sure if it was right thing to do but it worked.

I would think since you have a residence in BC everything should be good?

Window not working

My passenger side window stuck down the other day. I was driving a washerboard dirt road and suspect a wire may have come loose. Anybody ever had the middle console that houses the window switches? Any hints?

Re: Starting problems

put 4 new glow plugs in and this seems to have resolved the problem.

Next question, how often do you need to replace plugs? I got 3 years out of those plugs and who knows how long they were in before I bought the van. I put maybe 5000 km a year on the van.

Since this initial allright start-up I've started it a few more times. It will start but I have to really ...

Starting problems

My L300 all the sudden starts hard. I let the glow plugs do their thing and then turn it over. It sounds as though it wil start right up first try but then just mysteriously keeps cranking. I'll retreat and try the plugs again and have to feed a little bit with the throttle pedal. When it does start...
