Re: Headlight conversion
It has been done but most don't because the new ones are very expensive and are dreadfully weak. I can barely tell if they're on or off.

Re: Headlight conversion
Search up for DOT LED headlights for trucks. There are some really cool square lamps available these days. I have some pics but couldn't upload here with my iPhone.

Hi
I've put in Hela Squares that allow for use of H3 and etc.
Nice and bright and better than the sealed beams.
I got mine at a trucking place in Town.
They also sell sealed beam LED's that the truckers are using and
are they bright! But crazy expensive.

Do not do it 4 squares are the best L300 light...Mine has 4 Hella lens and could light up a city...sealed beam suck...the front is a little different (lots of people have looked at mine to go sealed to the 4 lights)...

Re: Headlight conversion
If you do it, I would like your square L300 headlight assembly. Cheers Christine.

Re: Headlight conversion
Im a sucker for lights... really looked into the LED headlights.
I guess one problem with them is they don't generate heat the same.
Some might think that is good but it isn't... heat from lights keeps the
lense from icing up in the winter. LED's tend to produce heat at the
back of the unit, not the front..
I would like a set though to play around with.. but not at $500+ for 2 lights,
then another $500 for the inners... :(
I'll look for a wrecked one :)

I have a pair of trucklite military LED headlights on my truck and they do not generate enough heat to melt the snow that builds up on them driving down the road. lots of heat coming off the back frm the heat sink but nothing in the front.
