Where are you getting their 30x9.5x15 tires from?
Hello all,
We are getting much closer to actually getting our Delica...yay! Anyways, we'll be needing tires, of course. I'd like to get some 30X9.5X15 BF Goodrich A/T for our new bus. So, my question is, where abouts in the lower mainland did you get your 30" BFG A/T's from? My wife called our local Costco in Kelowna to get a price, and they say they won't mount tires that are more than 3% larger than stock tire O.D.. According to my calculations, 30x9.5x15 is more than 3% larger in O.D. than the stock 215X80X15 tire size (at least according to the tire calculator I used).
I tried several searches on here with no success in finding where people are getting their tires from.
Thanks in advance!
Aaron

Japanoid put my Yokohamas (235/75R15), I believe they will install BFGs, as well. I think that CVI will also install tyres, too. Come to think of it... I think pretty much every tyre store in the lower mainland will install these tyres.
By the way, what does "O.D." refer to? (Don't mind me... simple sort of guy).

MardyDelica gets good price on his tires and he can get 30". They get mounted at the Mitsubishi dealership so you know it's well done. I've got both of my tire sets from Mardy and I'm very satisfied. You might need 6 1/2" wide rims for the 30" although I know a few have had them mounted on the stock 6" without any problems.

Thanks everyone for the responses. Falco, by O.D., I was referring to the Outside Diameter of the tire. Delicat, I never even considered that the rims would be a little on the narrow side for that tire size. How wide/tall do you think I could go on a 6" rim? I guess I could ask the tire shops that too. I don't want to take any chances on the first set of tires. The plan is that I'll get these tires on order first thing next week. September is coming up quick...woohoo!
Perhaps I'll get bigger tires after these first ones wear out a few years down the road.
Thanks again! I look forward to making it to some meets maybe this year and for sure next year. Would anyone be interested in an Okanagan meet sometime?

Cool, thanks Aaron. I could get into a Delica meet in the Okanagan at one point. I'll bet a few people in the GVRD would be interested in that. Profister was telling me about a quiet lake up that way worth checking out, involving a good ol' fashioned deactivated road with lots of branches as the way in & out. Slipped my mind for now but I will think of it... smiles.

You're best bet for the standard 6" rims would probably be 235/75r15 as the 30" seems to require 6 1/2" rims. I've attached a table that will give you an idea of tire size vs. rims width and speedo changes.
I agree with 39Ronin, Costco has pretty good price but I've had even better luck with Mardy for price. Just give him a call with your tire choice and compare with the Costco and the likes.
Good luck!

I would say it is worth it to go 30" and get 7" wide rims right off the bat, I love my 30" tires and now I want to go bigger! After the WVO install I can think about it as the fuel economy becomes a tiny bit less important. :)

Thanks for that handy chart, Delicat. I totally missed the rim width part of it at first. I don't think I can convince the wife that we need new rims for our Delica just yet, so the bigger tires are going to have to wait. I'll work with Costco and Mardy for some tire pricing tomorrow.
The tire size for the Delica is a lot different than when I was shopping for tires for my old F350. On that truck I ended up with 35" Toyo Open Country Mud Terrains. If only they made those tires in a Delica-friendly size!

Loki, I meant it would be nice if Toyo had a Mud Terrain that was closer to a 30". I'm sure with the right amout of lift and the right mods, it is possible to fit some pretty big meats under a Delica. I know I've seen a few sky high Delicas on these boards. As far as the Toyo Open Country Mud Terrains, if I recall correctly, 32" is as small as they go in that model of tire...but don't quote me on that one.
