Can you lock it with the key or doesn't that work either ?

Weird, my switch only locks, it won't unlock. I have to use the key to unlock from the back. I always assumed it wouldn't unlock for saftey reasons, maybe there's an easy fix for both our problems.

I would open the door pad and test the actuator but connecting wires manually and reversing to check if the actuator opens or cloese. you can always buy another cheap actuator (aftermarket) and add it with a bracket. I just fixed a door lock in toyota hiace.

There is a wiring harness that runs between the roof and tailgate on the right side of the vehicle and the wires inside go brittle and break with continuous use . Simply pull back the rubber boot and reconnect the broken wires inside .
