Not a Pinzgauer, but I'm sure that these capabilities would come in handy when fleeing the bandits in South America

I suspect that motor vehicle is not equipped with air bags.
I wonder what the shock to the driver was? I wouldn't want anything less than a complete harness if I knew I would be making stops like that...

want...
If you are hankering for an expedition vehicle, here's an idea for ya (on the left):

My father worked with Carl Hunter; he was a very thorough engineering manager at his company. He did some research before setting out over the Silk Road and found that worldwide, Mitsu Fuso parts are even more widely available than Mercedes/Mog parts. Apparently he put it together in 60 days for around $80K, logged 78,000+kms of very rugged roads, then got a substantial chunk of change back when he sold it a few years later.

One of their Silk Road group did take a Mog, and although it was the recovery vehicle of choice when others got stuck, it's short gearing meant it topped out at around 80kph, and the ride was much harsher on the occupants than the Mitsu. To top it off, apparently the Mitsu was the one other vehicle that never actually needed the Mog's extraction services.

I once saw a Fuso RV, but it was alot more square and boxy than that one. I don't think I'll ever actually own an offroad vehicle that big. Unless I was retired and driving all the time I wouldn't need it (where do you park something that big?) I've always drooled over the big MAN and Osh-Kosh extreme duty offroad trucks. If I made an RV I'd use one of those! It doesn't help when I check out stuff like the German offroad show pics on the Project Dino-Evo blog. Some people get all the toys...
