Ice fishing
yup, hmmmmm
It's like a whole new year of fun times.
5 " of ice on some lakes already.
New pictures of the deli on ice to come... (and yes I wait
till it's thicker to drive on :) )
Anyone want to come ice fishing?

Re: Ice fishing
Well, the shocks are done on the front, tightened up the torsion bar on the drivers side as well. It was an inch to low compared to the left. Measured from the center of the hub to the metal equally on both sides. Drives better now.
I am thinking ahead too, I remember getting the area in front of the rad filled with snow so I took some left over puckboard and made a snow guard. Should help keep the wind out for the winter too.

Re: Ice fishing
While a good idea to keep the snow out, it'll also keep the air out, and you need that to cool the radiator. I'd keep an eye on your engine temps...

Re: Ice fishing
Will the temps really rise that much given the winter temperatures here?
We are pretty much -10C to -30 for the next 4 months.
Isn't it the same as putting cardboard in front of the rad for the winter
which most do here in Saskatchewinter...

Re: Ice fishing
Why not add something like Falco's "Gopher Grille"? You could even have the spaces (openings, whatever you want to call them) made quite a bit smaller. It would prevent large amounts of snow from getting in and still give you air flow. And if they did get plugged, i'm sure some air will still make it through. Just a thought.

Re: Ice fishing
Sadely no ice fishing in the north of Thailand, but locals make do with the next best thing;
Sewer grate fishing; Caution: eating quality of the catch, may be highly diminished when compared to the ice fishing catch.

Air temp is not quite as important as air flow, and you've effectively blocked it all off.Firesong wrote:Will the temps really rise that much given the winter temperatures here?

Re: Ice fishing
Hey Marmie ;)
I went with the suggestion and cut 4 holes in the cruncher.
roughly 1.5" x 3.5"
Should still do both jobs effectively.
